Fruity right from the outset. Hints of milk chocolate and roasted malt towards the end. Sweeter than most stouts. Exceptionally agreeable given the higher ABV. The raspberry really overwhelms the major components of this stout. Good for one drink, but it is not necessarily one that I will purchase more than once.

Poured from 16 oz can into stem glass, as suggested by the label.
Beer is a standard dark brown stout color with clumpy carbonation and a very dark, exuberant head.
Smell is dominated by raspberries and chocolate syrup, to be expected. Evocative of other stone fruits such as cherries. Not much else to it at first.
Taste is where I was really worrying. Out of the can, this beer is bitter, almost astringent, vaguely metallic. Poured into a glass, it mellows into a perfectly acceptable flavored stout. It's a bit like a Flavor is still a bit metallic, but the aggressive bitterness is rounder, with expected oaky notes underscoring the chocolate. The raspberry so prominent in the nose takes a back seat to the chocolate. Also picking up some carbonated flavor.
Mouthfeel is middle of the road. Not thin, not velvety, not thick, not creamy. Carbonation feels large - like the bubbles are bigger than usual.
Frankly, I'm glad I only got the 4 pack. The beer improves significantly with pouring, so if you get it do not neglect the glassware. It's frankly unpleasant otherwise.

A pint can poured into a draught glass. Pour had a dark coffee colored head with a dark brown-black body. Scent has delightful notes of ripe raspberry and notes of chocolate (both sweet and bitter). Taste is extremely raspberry in the front and middle sections before transitioning to a sweet then bitter chocolate. Feel is creamy, smooth, almost chewy at times with a mildly bitter chocolate aftertaste. Overall a solid raspberry imperial stout.

Poured from 1 pt 0.9 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Dark, dark brown pour... nearly black with big foamy mocha colored head. Leaves some nice lacing. Good looking brew.
S: Strong raspberries and cocoa. Dark chocolate and roast.
T.F: More or less follows the nose. Not as raspberry forward as expected... a lot of chocolate. Some roast bitterness. Not as sweet as expected which isn't a bad thing (better too little than too much). A bit of coffee, earth, and chicory. Medium bodied... smooth carbonation, and gets a wisp of tartness from the raspberry. The fruit gets stronger as the beer warms. Raspberry and chocolate to finish.
O: A decent fruited stout. The raspberry works pretty well with the flavors. Drinks lighter than it's 9%, and may have benefited from even a little more oomph.

Taste was a bit too sweet for me despite the nice blend of chocolate and raspberry flavors. Reminiscent of a more refined Mad Elf.

It's slightly lighter but a solid medium tending lighter brown. The nose is nicely roasted malt, with a bit of char and a highlight of tart raspberry. Taste starts with the raspberry right up front, but the burnt coffee char flavor metalicize this, and then clashes with it in a way that reminds me why I haven't bought this since I first tried it.
Nothing specifically wrong with the individual flavors, they just don't seem to work together well for me. Funny thing is that I think I'd rather like the beer if the raspberry were tossed out of it - it has a nice Ten FIDY like sort of char to it that needs no stinkin' pink berries involved.

Poured moderately hard from a bottle into a snifter glass, forming a couple fingers of dark brown head that eventually faded to nothing. Deep brown color. Smells malty with a bit of fruit. Taste is slightly bitter/roasty malt with raspberry coming at the end. Gets a bit less bitter as it warms. Light to medium bodied with light carbonation. A solid malty/roasty stout with a hint of raspberry. Good, but not quite as good as others from Hardwood?

Pours a dark dark brown with a creamy thick brown head
Smell is not too strong with fruity hints
Taste is exceptional with nice raspberry tone and earthyness
Mouth feel is very good, nice carbonation
Overall very drinkable and does not taste as strong as the ABV would leave you to believe. Don't know if this is good or bad

500 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/21/2017. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy red raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, plum, prune, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, raspberries, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of huge juicy/tart/tangy red raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, plum, prune, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy red raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, raspberries, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome hop/char bitter/sweet, and fruit tang/tartness balance; with no puckering, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and tart/tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy, bready, grainy, sticky, chalky, acidic, tangy, tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 9.2% after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic fruited imperial stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, raspberries, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on with the moderately bitter/tart/tangy/drying finish. Nicely soft, and not overdone on fruit. Fantastic balance of juicy/jammy raspberries, and rich malt complexity; with great earthy hop presence, and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example.
