This has now become my go to beer when it is in season and has a special spot in my beer fridge. I am a fan of dunkels which is why my score edges on the high end.

Mother in Lager has a thick, beige head, a reddish-brown, bubbly appearance, with minimal glass lacing. Aroma is of brown bread crust and some molasses. Flavor is similar, with just a touch of balancing bitterness. Mouthfeel is low medium, and Mother in Lager finishes crisp and refreshing.

This pours dark and malty, with a heavy handed malt-caramel note on the nose. Toasty and roasty. Narrowly avoids the cloying curse. Poured from a can.

Pours a dark umber with an espresso like foam head. The flavor has coffee notes in the toasted malt and brings to my mind a stout. The hop and carbination are low leaving me wanting just a bit more to balance it out.

This is really a porter. Dark cola color with minimal head. Starts sweet ends dry with chocolate finish. Decent balance.

I was surprised by how dark it is. Looks almost like a porter. Looks like cola in a clear glass. Malty yeast smell like bread dough. Initially it’s a sweet malt flavor that finishes dry with a fruity coffee flavor. It is slightly less than moderate carbonation that seems almost on the flat side. The 5.8% abv seems low. It is semi heavy. I think a sixer will do me. It’s a good representation of the style but not my favorite. It’s still a good drink.

A dunkel is the only lager worth drinking. This is red from Munich malts...and alc is low enough to drink it all day.

From a 12 ounce can, pours a nice dark caramel color with a light aroma for a Dunkel style. Nice taste that's not too carbonated but smooth, easy drinking. This will be a nice session beer for people who like this especially well. My first time for MIL. Looking forward to a Karbach beer dinner this week. I think I would buy this one again. CHEERS Y'ALL!

Pours dark with thin head. Don't let then dark color fool you, this is not a heavy beer. Drinks smooth with a crisp finish.
