Poured from the can into a wheat ale glass.

Deep orange body to dull yellow brass body. Opaque with small carbonation, and a big fluffy white tall three finger head, and minimal retention. Sticks around for a bit and leaves some hugging pill like lacing.

Real strong hefeweizen like aroma. Thick esters and lots of lemon and sharp clove. A bit of interesting peanut butter qualities and hints of mellon cantaloupe as well. Quite impressive and big, very dense and large estery smelling brew.

Real interesting palate. Taste comes out more candied orange with a witbier like freshness and simple orange sweetness. Gone it seems are the hefe character and it's turned to witbier before my palate, and a decent one at that. Fresh chewy body, with a good amount of citrus and a hint of banana just wants to sneak out. Mild phenolic like qualities of clove really noticeable with some light and tight carbonation.

What a neat brew. Smells like a hefeweizen but tastes like a Belgian witbier, and a real good one at that.

Thanks to kevin123 for this can...

A: Pours a nice cloudy gold with one full finger of white head that settles quickly. There is only a tiny ring along the edges of the beer that remains.

S: The nose is earthy, with notes of banana and clove. It smells sweet, but there is also a slight sour/funk note in there as well.

T: It's crisp and stinging up front with a slightly salty kick. The clove and banana come on strong afterward. The finish is bananas and wheat.

M: Light bodied beer. It's a bit stinging up front, but the carbonation settles down as it lingers on the palate. The finish is smooth and clean. A bit of banana lingers.

O: I enjoyed this beer, but it's nothing spectacular. I'd drink it again if I was ever afforded the opportunity, but it's not something I would specifically seek out in the future.

This pours a somewht murky golden color. The head is thick and frothy. The nose is strong with wheat. The beer is strong in the wheat flavor. It's a very refreshing hefe.

12oz can into a Weizen glass

A: Pours a hazy golden color with two fingers of fluffy white head that quickly recedes to a thin film.

S: A face full of bananas overpowering just about everything else. I get a bit of wheat and really no citrus.

T: More balanced than the aroma. I get strong wheat and bananas balanced together with some spice and citrus. Very flavorful and tasty. Spice in the way of nutmeg and lemon are quite strong.

M: Medium mouthfeel with strong carbonation.

O: The nose is a bit banana-y, but this is a very flavorful and tasty hefeweizen. I'm a fan.

Poured from a can at Barnaby's on Fairview in Houston.

This is a very nice rendition of this style -- refreshing with some pleasant funk and sweetness. Very clean.

A: Nice golden grain color with a dense, thick head atop it.
S: Hefeweizen aroma are dead on: sweet, bubble-gum like fruitiness, with a faint spicy phenolic character. I don't pick up any witbier scents, though.
T: Ah, there we go, a little bit of coriander, perhaps a touch of bitter orange peel, but it's subtle and reserved. However, it's a quite decent hefe, with banana-fruity taste. Phenols are still light, but that's true of many good hefes. Citrus peel comes through better in the finish.
M: Good carbonation levels, with a light, drinkable body.
O: Quirky idea, well-executed. Worth buying again.

12oz can into a pint glass

A: Pours hazy yellow with a white head that fades to a ring and leaves lacing on the glass.

S: The nose is really something on this one. Big aromas of banana, wheat, bubblegum, and belgian esters. I could smell this all night.

T: The taste doesn't exactly live up to the promises the nose made but it's still pretty good. Nice flavors of banana, wheat, malt, and belgian yeast.

M: The feel is crisp but the bigger bubbles make it feel a bit odd. I'd like to see smaller bubbles and creamier.

O: Not a bad example of the style and something I could drink in quantity at a BBQ or something like that.
