i really enjoyed this wit/hefe hybrid, it really is the best of both worlds, and i found it light, bright, summery, and refreshing, better than anticipated. a cool mix of the two styles and all the key elements from both are there. it starts with the wheat malt, which is pale and light but very fresh and entirely foundational for this beer. the banana creamy yeast complexion of a good hefe leads the way, but the coriander spice and citrus elements of the wit are also present, especially towards the finish. notes of lemongrass, orange, and mild spices, none of it over the top or run away, its all restrained enough to keep this approachable and majorly easy drinking. i like how high the carbonation is, and how it warms up, its a total crusher, but more flavorful than other beers in that context. definitely a warm weather thing for me, but a really tasty brew overall, some of the better stuff i have had from these guys, and a cool fusion of styles that i am seeing for the first time. i am surprised more brewers havent gone for something like this, the elements of both work perfectly together!

Poured from a can at Barnaby's on Fairview in Houston.

This is a very nice rendition of this style -- refreshing with some pleasant funk and sweetness. Very clean.

I've just always been a fan of this one. Heavy bubblegum, clove, and banana... not a traditional Hef or Wit but it works for me. Great flavor, easy to drink, and available anywhere in Texas.

Pours a reassuringly cloudy gold. Moderate, foamy head.

The sweet banana, clove and bubblegum qualities of the hefe come through strong on the nose. Coriander comes through more on the palette, working with the light zing of lemon and orange rind to grant a touch of that witbier complexity. A nice, casual drinker. Could be exceptional if the spiciness of the yeast was turned up a notch.
