Appearance: Pours clear golden, with a frothy head that does a good job in the lacing department

Smell: Biscuity, with honey tones

Taste: Biscuity forward, with a growing honeyed sweetness that builds through the middle; slightly herbal and a modest amount of bitterness that lingers into the finish; graham crackers in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A sweeter style larger; not for me

Living in San Antonio, Karbach beers are a standard everywhere since we're only 2.5 hours from Houston. All their beers are very good because they are well made and the recipes are very balanced. Sympathy grows on you because it is so flavorful and balanced for a 4.9% lager. My favorite styles are all ales, but Sympathy has become my 'every day' beer. I've had 2 1/4 barrels at the house so far and have not gotten tired of it yet. You'll pick up different hop or malt flavors day to day based on how you pallet is working that day. Nothing stands out; its just good beer.

Got this from walmart on sale for $4...thats a steal being that this goes for $8.99 everywhere i look. Drank at room temp..nice floral aroma with a bitter-ish creamy taste. Not a bad beer at all. Didnt pour out of the can..drank it straight from it. No metallic taste from the can. This beer would taste great cold. Overall a good beer with nice flavor. I would give it a solid 4.

Poured from can. Nice two finger head dissipated fairly quick. Nicely carbonated. Smell is a little malty, but taste is nicely balanced malt and hops. Fantastic summer beer.

Pours a golden color with a lager malt aroma. Flavor is a solid lager but really just malty. Has a nice body with good carbonation crispness. Overall a drinkable beer but not much else going on.
