Serving: 12 oz can ("crafted on 110515") poured into a 9 oz Libbey Embassy snifter.

Appearance: Deep but still clear, cola brown with a fizzy head of tan foam; spare lacing.

Smell: Mildly roasted malt, dark caramel, molasses and plenty of holiday baking spices.

Taste: Plenty of toasty and roasted malt, sweet molasses and toffee, slight cocoa, holiday spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove) and some fruit, both citrus and dried (fruitcake?). Some balancing roast and earthy bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium body and lively carbonation.

Overall: A nice winter warmer, verging on a bit sweet, brimming with plenty of seasonal spice.

Pours a clear darker brown color with off-white, dark ivory colored head. Nuts, spice, caramel, and toasted malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with spice and sweetness.

Poured from a can into a snifter. Dark brown color with a thin head and light lacing. Moderately carbonated. Taste of cola, caramel, toast. Pleasantly sweet. A very nice Christmas beer with humorous can art!

Appearance is extremely dark brown with a nice thick head (good lacing around the glass).

Smell is slightly roasted malt with spices coming through (cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, clove). There is also some brown sugar, orange peel, pumpkin and biscuit aromas present. The smell is not real strong, but there is some complexity.

Taste is smooth roasted malt with cinnamon, allspice and cocoa coming through. The spices are noticeable but not overpowering. The finish has a nice hoppy dryness that plays well with the roasted and slightly smoky notes.

Mouth feel is creamy with a tingly sensation. The body is medium/heavy but not too heavy due to the carbonation.

Overall this is a well balanced winter seasonal with a focus on the roasted malt. The spices come through nicely without being overpowering. There is some sweetness, but the balance is good overall.

No idea as to the date on this one.

A: Pours a very dark brown with a decent sized and fizzy tan head. Decent head retention and so-so lacing. Just a little splotchiness here and there.

S: Interesting aroma. Chocolate and oranges? Huh.

T: Hmph, lots of ginger and cinnamon initially. Light orange and some very bittersweet cocoa. Finish is more cinnamon and maybe a hint of star anise?

M: Medium bodied, heavily spiced.

O: Not bad. Pretty typical "winter warmer" type beer. Orange is a nice unique bit but it's very mild in the flavor so it doesn't add a whole lot. Overall decent brew.
