Karbach's Love Street has an extremely thick, slightly off-white head, a hazy, yellow appearance, with fierce bubble streams, not so small yeast chunks, and a good amount of spiderweb glass lacing. Aroma is of pale malts, with a ghost of lemon and grass. A touch of bitterness at the end of the sips, too. Taste is pale malt, with a sour & yeasty undertaste. Mouthfeel is medium and semi-fluffy, and Love Street finishes mostly crisp.

12 fl oz aluminum can with colorful hippy-esque label art acquired as part of a 6 pack earlier tonight for $13.00 at the Growler Room here in Austin and served into a Spaten stangenglas in me gaff in low altitude Austin, Texas. Reviewed live. Expectations are average given its current ratings as well as the brewery. No ABV is listed on the label. Reviewed as a Kolsch because it clearly identifies as such.

Served cold, straight from me fridge. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: No bubble show forms as I pour.

Pours a 4.5 finger wide head of white colour. Nice creaminess. Decent thickness. Not as frothy as I'd like for the style. No lacing clings to the sides of the glass as the head recedes. Head retention is slightly above average - about 2-3 minutes.

Body colour is a clean clear yellow with vague copper hues; of above average vibrance. Translucent and transparent. No yeast particles are visible.

Sm: Pilsner malts, clean barley, a kiss of peppery spice, a bit of lemongrass, generic floral hop character (seems like Saaz if I had to guess), and the clean crisp graininess that tends to define the style. A pleasant aroma of mild strength.

No yeast character or alcohol is detectable.

T/Mf: It's got a pleasant foundation comprised of pilsner malts, clean barley, lemongrass, and crisp graininess. Complementary generic floral hops (Saaz), some crystal malt, and a bit of lemon zest also make an appearance. A kiss of white grape when I look for it. A biteen too sweet. The balance isn't great, admittedly.

A good Kolsch requires delicate subtlety and careful attention. You won't find that here. A simple attempt at the style that hits some of the elements right, but ultimately doesn't hold a candle to good traditional versions of the style.

No yeast character or alcohol comes through.

Smooth and wet. A biteen overcarbonated. Crisp, but it needs to be moreso. Decent body and presence on the palate. Mouthfeel certainly doesn't feel custom-tailored to the style, but it suits it okay. Lightly buttery, which isn't ideal.

Not biting, hot, boozy, gushed, or harsh.

Dr: A simple attempt at a Kolsch which isn't quite up to par with traditional beers in the style. This'll scratch your Kolsch itch I guess, but I wouldn't get it again at this price point. That said, it's certainly drinkable and I'll enjoy finishing the 6 pack. There are definitely far better examples of the style at a better price point (even as imports). Refreshing and enjoyable for what it is. A decent summer seasonal from Karbach. Hides its modest ABV well.

Pours out a medium golden color. Head is white and somewhat dense. Retention is moderate and leaves no lacing.
The nose has honey, wheat, lemongrass and hints of bread.
The taste has honey up front with the grains come in through the middle. The finish again has a honey like sweetness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and is well carbonated.
Over all an ok beer.

Had this one a few times now. They usually have this, Hopadillo, and Staycation all at 2 for 5 dollars, all from Karbach.

Poured from the tall can into my Mewtwo glass. Love Street has a very light, crisp taste that makes it very refreshing on a hot day here in Texas. Not much head, smell was very mild. Very fizzy feel, and thankfully it isn't watery.

Overall, while it isn't my absolute favorite, I do come back to it every now and then. It doesn't hit you hard, but with a name like Love Street, you expect it to go a little easy on you. Love Street is the most moe name for a beer I've ever heard, how could you hate it?

Straw colored with thin head. Smells like malt. Tastes like malt. Mouth feel is thicker with less carbonation than bud light. Not bad but not great. Good beer to drink in the shade on a sunny day.

Poured into a pint glass. Hazy straw color with minimal head that doesn't last at all and leaves no lacing. Smell of grass, some lemon, and pepper. Taste is grassy wheat, spices, and a touch of spicy hops that work in harmony. Light body and medium-light carbonation.
My first though was lawn mowing beer. Light, crisp, and refreshing is the best part. It's a drinkable Kolsch that is not fully baked.
