One of the best non-BA coffee stouts I have encountered. The nose is all dark roast coffee, and the taste follows suit along with a dollop of bittersweet chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel, but not too viscous or rich. I'd love to do a blind tasting with this and Founders Breakfast Stout. I am of the opinion I might think this Revival offering is better!

On tap at Meadhall in Cambridge.

Pours a thick black with little head. Very strong coffee/chocolate/vanilla aroma. The coffee is a little subdued on the palate and very well balanced by chocolate and roasted malt. Finishes sweeter and crisper than I'd expected for such a big beer. Much more balanced with little alcohol warmth.

Overall a very good coffee stout and one that I'll drink again!

I've been waiting a long time to try this beer, and I was slightly disappointed. This, however, will not keep me from drinking it again or visiting the brewery. Perhaps I got an "off" bottle or maybe it's better on tap? Speaking of the bottle, there was no expiration date notched on it.
The head quickly dissipated when poured into my pint glass from the bottle. There was little retention. I could smell some roastiness, but the taste was very bitter. The color did remind me of coffee without cream; it was a nice dark brown. Upon this initial consumption, I am determined to get me another bottle!

Had in tulip glass at Flynn's in Mansfield.

Look: Pours deep brown to black with minimal head.

Smell: Rich coffee and chocolate notes. Minimal hop aroma.

Taste: Again coffee and chocolate but backed up by an earthy hop bitterness. Almost 0 alcohol warmth. Incredibly smooth for a 8% beer.

Feel: Lighter body than the color and ABV would have me assume. This is an imperial stout that drinks like a 5%.

Overall: Fantastic coffee stout from Revival! Light enough to stay relevant year round, but with enough coffee and roasted malt to satisfy the stout aficionado in me.

Poured a jet brown black color in a Stone Snifter with a 2F head.

Excellent aroma: coffee, chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt. The aroma is strong throughout the tasting.

Light malty MF with light bitterness.

The taste Is deep coffee- not espresso, more like Columbian. smooth, rich.

Overall: excellent coffee stout. I'll be looking for more of their beers.

12 oz. bottle

Pours black with a creamy frothy dark tan foam head. Smells like berries, dark fruit, roasty malts, some coffee, chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, with earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like iced coffee with dark fruit, berries, roasty malts, dark chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, with bitter earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy with moderate carbonation. Overall a pretty nice coffee stout.

Had on Nitro tap.
Looks great, a fine thick tan head atop a dark brown beer.
Smells of coffee and milk chocolate.
Tastes of more coffee, bitter roasted grains and
Feel is very smooth (thanks to nitro), creamy and lighter to medium body, hides the alcohol well - never would guess it is 8%.

Overall, quite a good beer. Really great on a nitro tap if you can find it.

12oz bottle, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark black body, full opaque and dark with a one finger offwhite head, good retention, thin collar, not much lacing. Smell is creamy milk chocolate, black coffee bean with a bit of roast, lactose, a bit of toasted chocolate barley, slight earthiness. Flavour is a nice balance of roasted coffee bean, black coffee, a fair bit of milk chocolate which makes me wonder if lactose was added; good mild fudge presence with an earthy bitter bite on the backend. Good balance, although the coffee ends up being covered a bit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, smooth and very enjoyable. A delicious RI coffee stout that holds up with anything I've come across locally.
