Pours a solid black with a thin tan head...leaves a fair bit of lacing. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Tastes of coffee. Rich malty mouthfeel. Very nice.

On nitro-tap 10/12/2014 at Doherty’s Ale East Ave Irish Pub in Pawtucket, RI, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a large dense light brown head that fades very slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains roasted malts, coffee and some chocolate.

T: The taste starts out very creamy with flavors of coffee and chocolate followed by a hearty roasted malt character. The coffee flavor strengthens as you continue to drink the beer. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly bitter-sweet.

M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, light-to-medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a decent stout to drink for a while.

Dark brown color where only faint light shines through the edge of the glass. Lasting foamy head that leaves a solid blanket of lace.

Mocha aroma of dark coffee and semisweet chocolate. Light chalk.

Very smooth body with a great nitro - effervescence at Bukowski's in Boston. It starts with a semisweet chocolate that transforms into a cocoa - mocha which further morphs into straight up coffee in the swallow. Long bitter coffee grounds aftertaste.

Review from BA Mag Issue #119 ( Dec 2016 )

Roasty, Bitter, Caffeinated, Brawny
Big and robust, White Electric never wavers from its roastiness. Revival makes good use of coffee, there’s more than enough flavor from the beans to hold up in this massive Stout. It’s bitter and aggressive, smooth and creamy. A big beer with sweetness kept to a minimum. There are some contrasting elements here that have melded quite well together. Meanwhile, the roasted character just keeps hammering away sip after sip. A very enjoyable beer, but not for timid palates. [Jason]

Poured into a Duvel tulip. Label says freshest before date notched, notch is on November.

A- Pours a fully opaque black color with a 3/4 inch light tan head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a broken ring behind.

S- Earthy aroma with some mild coffee roast. Slightly sweet-smelling.

T- Balanced flavor of malty sweetness and medium roast coffee. ABV is hidden quite well. Some hop bitterness as well as roast bitterness.

M- Sharp from the hops and roast with medium carbonation and a fullish body.

O- While the bitterness gets to be a bit much as the drink progresses, this is a decently executed coffee stout that I would order again if I saw it on draft somewhere.

Meadhall Cambridge.

A- Black pour from the taps to a pint glass with a puffy nutty brown head. Cap makes it to a finget with good retention. Massive blanket remains and lacing is huge.

S- Freshly brewed coffee makes up a vast majority of the aroma with brew and grounds coming out. Charred ashy grains round it out with a hint of bitter dark chocolate.

T- Once again the coffee grounds rule the realm. Bitter dark roast coffee leads into bitter dark chocolate bars, milk chocolate chip cookies, bitter earthy hops, a hint of dried dark fruits and caramel sweetness. All about that French press.

MF- Thick bodied and somewhat oily. Texture is lacking a bit but a frothy and foamy feel pokes in. Finishes a bit warm and very burnt bitter.

Bitter coffee and chocolate dominate the palate with bitterness. If you like coffee you might like this.

12oz bottle served in a tulip. Pours the color and clarity of cola with a tight, half inch, khaki-colored head. Nose expresses roasted coffee, a hint of coffee syrup and a suggestion of vanilla. Taste expresses lots of grounds and some char. Very little sweetness. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body (closer to light) with an assertive carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid non-BA beer. Coffee is quite pleasant without being vegetal. This would make a great breakfast stout.

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a dark chocolate brown color with foamy tan head of 1 cm rising up after the pour and fading to a sturdy edge layer that clings after each sip.
Aroma is heavy with coffee grounds and roasted malt, very much like a cup of coffee. Maybe a little nutty scent buried in the nose too.
First sip reveals an average body with fine tingly carbonation and a silky texture.
The beer is easy to drink on the physical side of things.
Flavor is roasted malt and coffee grinds with just a little bit of booze on the finish. But a lingering roast malt and coffee dominates this beer. I will buy more of this one as I found it very enjoyable, a little more thickness on the body is the only big improvement in my opinion.
