Dark brown color where only faint light shines through the edge of the glass. Lasting foamy head that leaves a solid blanket of lace.

Mocha aroma of dark coffee and semisweet chocolate. Light chalk.

Very smooth body with a great nitro - effervescence at Bukowski's in Boston. It starts with a semisweet chocolate that transforms into a cocoa - mocha which further morphs into straight up coffee in the swallow. Long bitter coffee grounds aftertaste.

Meadhall Cambridge.

A- Black pour from the taps to a pint glass with a puffy nutty brown head. Cap makes it to a finget with good retention. Massive blanket remains and lacing is huge.

S- Freshly brewed coffee makes up a vast majority of the aroma with brew and grounds coming out. Charred ashy grains round it out with a hint of bitter dark chocolate.

T- Once again the coffee grounds rule the realm. Bitter dark roast coffee leads into bitter dark chocolate bars, milk chocolate chip cookies, bitter earthy hops, a hint of dried dark fruits and caramel sweetness. All about that French press.

MF- Thick bodied and somewhat oily. Texture is lacking a bit but a frothy and foamy feel pokes in. Finishes a bit warm and very burnt bitter.

Bitter coffee and chocolate dominate the palate with bitterness. If you like coffee you might like this.

On tap at Meadhall in Cambridge.

Pours a thick black with little head. Very strong coffee/chocolate/vanilla aroma. The coffee is a little subdued on the palate and very well balanced by chocolate and roasted malt. Finishes sweeter and crisper than I'd expected for such a big beer. Much more balanced with little alcohol warmth.

Overall a very good coffee stout and one that I'll drink again!

I've been waiting a long time to try this beer, and I was slightly disappointed. This, however, will not keep me from drinking it again or visiting the brewery. Perhaps I got an "off" bottle or maybe it's better on tap? Speaking of the bottle, there was no expiration date notched on it.
The head quickly dissipated when poured into my pint glass from the bottle. There was little retention. I could smell some roastiness, but the taste was very bitter. The color did remind me of coffee without cream; it was a nice dark brown. Upon this initial consumption, I am determined to get me another bottle!

Poured a jet brown black color in a Stone Snifter with a 2F head.

Excellent aroma: coffee, chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt. The aroma is strong throughout the tasting.

Light malty MF with light bitterness.

The taste Is deep coffee- not espresso, more like Columbian. smooth, rich.

Overall: excellent coffee stout. I'll be looking for more of their beers.

Had in tulip glass at Flynn's in Mansfield.

Look: Pours deep brown to black with minimal head.

Smell: Rich coffee and chocolate notes. Minimal hop aroma.

Taste: Again coffee and chocolate but backed up by an earthy hop bitterness. Almost 0 alcohol warmth. Incredibly smooth for a 8% beer.

Feel: Lighter body than the color and ABV would have me assume. This is an imperial stout that drinks like a 5%.

Overall: Fantastic coffee stout from Revival! Light enough to stay relevant year round, but with enough coffee and roasted malt to satisfy the stout aficionado in me.

Served on tap at Brutopia in Cranston, RI in a flute glass.

Body is straight black and opaque. Not much head to speak of or lacing.

Aromas are potent and inviting, lots of coffee, vanilla, caramel and almost a nice maple aroma. Taste isn't as promising as the nose but still very nice, freshly roasted coffee, chocolate, finished by a light char. Mouthfeel is slightly thin especially considering the ABV.

Overall solid, would drink again.
