Pours a cloudy golden yellow with three plus fingers of foamy/bubbly white head.
Nose initially of pine, resin, and citrus - grapefruit, grapefruit peel; hints of peach and as warmed a weedy dankness all backed by notes of cereal malt.
Cereal malt sweetness with first sip followed by a bright hop burst of pine, grapefruit peel and lemon and again just a hint of peach. A sticky leafy bitterness sits at the back and builds.
Solid medium mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a lingering resiny bitterness.
Very good.

Golden with a slight orange tinge and lots of carbonation, topped with three fingers of off-white, rocky, head. The smell is of pine and weed. The taste follows the noise. I got this in London Ontario December 2 and I’m drinking in new Hamburg Ontario the same day. Decent brew.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario 473ml at 6.5%.
Poured into glass with a 2 finger head leaving a lace as you drink it.
Lots of beautiful flavors and very addictive well balanced and smooth.
Overall this Lone Pine west coast IPA is very good enjoyed it very much would definitely love to have again.
Cheers

A darned good IPA. It stacks up very well against some good California IPAs. Pours a golden tangerine with high carbonation and a thin lacy head. Very piney, like walking through an Ontario forest

Thanks to Coronaeus for hitting me with this one in NBS BIF #15.
16 oz can stamped APR 05 2022
Beautiful pour. Slightly opaque golden orange in hue and capped off by a solid 2 fingers of white foam. Great retention and layered soapy lacing.
Nose is as advertised. Starts off with both citrus and pine resin note, already hand in hand. Citrus is orange zest and grapefruit. Pine resin is almost sappy. All of this presents a firm bitterness. Underneath it all, a slightly sweet biscuit note.
The nose foreshadowed well. However the bitterness I expected is tapered back a tad. This is really balanced, yet still assertive. Orange peel and pine resin, slightly earthy, a hint of pepper or rye, a bit of floral grapefruit, and a solid (mildly sweet) bread note all work together beautifully.
Mouthfeel is medium, moderate carbonation, with a nice drying bitterness on the finish.
Overall, a solid example of what we now call a west coast IPA.

Look: Hazy bright golden colour. Pours with a 1 1/2 finger densely bubbled white head. The head has great staying power, its still a full 1/2 finger after 5 minutes.

Smell: Pine, tangerines, touches of spring flowers. Touchs of sweetness like cotton candy, but with a hint of earthiness. Everything about this beers smell reminds me of the Boreal forest in June, minus the blackflies'.

Taste: More delicate than expected given the smell. Lemon and grapefruit are the stars of the show. A nice pine hoppy consistency throughout the middle to back end of the sip. Some whole wheat bread notes in the middle sip.

Feel: A light to medium body. Highly carbonated, too carbonated some would say. A nice dry finish. Semi bitter, but not overly.

This is a very clean, very crisp example of how to make a hoppy west coast ale, without stirring up the gastric juices in the drinker. A few of these go down nicely with no regrets later. It earns an A-

For a decent double IPA it looks like a Miller Lite. Other than the uninspiring color this is a hoppy fruit pleasure.

Straw colored, slightly hazy. Head stays nicely.

Smells piney, citrus.

Orange citrus to grapefruit with a hint of piney resin. Wow - the biscuity, bread, deliciousness.

Great mouthfeel, lovely C02 levels.

I would love to get ahold of a fresher version of this beverage.

Canada rocks and they prove it over and over again - they are right there on the tails of the good old US when it comes to blasting IPAs - no surprise because they are full on classic US hops: summit, simcoe, columbus and chinook set the standard. Okay, they have plenty of Canadian ingredients in there as well. And there you have it: an amazing IPA as it should be. Citrusy, fruity, piney. Great. Very mild though! No bitterness there, almost. A tiny bit in the end maybe. A proper and feelgood IPA nevertheless - somewhere between the East Coast and the West Coast tradition, not that dry but not that full bodied either - just great! Now I'm ready to crack another Canadian IPA open!

Hazy orange color, off-white head. Aroma is resiny with orange rind and sweet malt background. Taste follows with bitter hop resin and astringent notes. Medium body and carbonation. Old school, a bit harsh.

Yellow orange and unfiltered look. Lots of aroma, pine and citrus. Delivers same on the palate. Flavour all over the tongue, not isolated. A bit more sweet than my favourite IPA: Ransack the Universe. One of the “juicy” IPAs. Long after taste. No bitterness, but clearly hoppy. I’d recommend it to everyone. Worth trying, especially if your budget is tight.

the only beer i got to try from sawdust city on my trip, but its a petty solid ipa, and one i saw around town a little bit. its got a nice orange glow to it and a little chill haze, but not all fogged up and new school looking, lively and heady too. it smells quite well balanced, perhaps a little maltier than is on trend right now, with more of a crystal malt profile presenting itself. it has a great hop complexion though, bitter and grapefruity and northwestern, very robust and more bitter than a lot of the other hoppy beer i had in ontario. its also well dry hopped it seems, with a juicy fruity citrus complexion to match the bitterness in the taste, maybe some citra and simcoe at work, but there is enough grain in here that the hops arent totally obvious. orange and pine and zest, dry bready too, less sweet from the more sturdy grain composition than expected, and thats a nice touch. good full body, plenty of carbonation from the pint can, and overall a very enjoyable, if a little straight forward ipa. fresh and tasty. i would have liked to try a little more beer from these guys on my trip, it will have to wait until next time!

Full bodied nose that radiates the scents of Canada's pine forests. Great flavour. All round a fantastic brew.
