On tap at 2016 Hogs and Hops.

Decent head over a black body. Medium body.

Aroma: sweet toffee with dark bread.

Flavor follows. Too boozy, especially for less than 7% ABV.

Overall: very good but not excellent nor particularly memorable.

Pours dark with a tan head.
Held it up to the light and its surprising clear.
Smells of roasted malts and coconut.
Slightly sweet with nice roasty notes, thats begin to border on coffee when the beer warmed up.
Good mouth feel from the oats even though the beer is under 7%.
Super solid stout.

From north Atlanta, would say this stout is the best one that Georgia has to offer. That being a bold statement, I might send some samples in. Get this draft if you can, they have it at the Avalon in Alpharetta.

A delicious seasonal from Red Hare. Wonderful taste and aroma with rich coffee undertones. Perfect for a cool fall or winter evening. I've had it the last two years and decided to finally review it.

Sticky Stout is my all time favorite beer. I didn't think I liked Stouts until I tried this beer and now I can't get enough, it has a wonderful sweetness and is minimally bitter. The amount of oatmeal they use gives it a light mouthfeel and really smooth clean finish. This beer is all too easy to knock back. I love the chocolate notes, this beer is perfect for a cold night in but it's not too heavy to drink when its warm. I wish this was a year round beer, my roommate and I have to stock up!!

Sticky Stout has become my favorite stout. It's so rich in both flavor and texture that I feel I'm being nourished when I drink it. The smell is also very compelling. I like to breath it in before I take a sip. And even though the flavor blooms with a chocolaty sweetness, the finish is nice and clean. Good stuff!!!

This is the second year that Sticky Stout is available as a seasonal during the winter. Last year it was gone before I could get my second 6-pack.
I love the drinkability of this stout, not too heavy just right so you can have 2 or 3 at the time. Nice foam when pouring and great chocolate flavor throughout. This is one of the best local stouts available in Georgia. Because it is in cans it has become my winter hike companion.

A red hare salesman gave me a 12 oz can. No date, usually on the cardboard package. I do know it's fresh though. Poured aggressively into a snifter leaving small one inch head that recedes quickly. Pitch black color. Smell is sweet chocolate. Mellow flavor with no bitterness. Very light carbonation. Easy drinking stout. Needs some more taste. Good beer tho. Cheers!

Can from a friend in Atlanta. Thanks, JC! Pours dark brown to black with a two finger khaki head. Aroma of lightly roasted malts, some sweet molasses, not much else here. Flavor is light roast and sweet chocolate, hint of bitterness to balance the sweet, smooth oatmeal characteristic. Lighter bodied in the style but nicely easy drinking, medium is carbonation. Not bad at all and a nice everyday type of stout that won't knock you in a loop if you're in the mood for roast.

Red Hare Sticky Stout
12 oz. can, no apparent freshness dating

Red Hare Sticky Stout pours an opaque brown-black body beneath a 1 finger thick head of tan foam that unfortunately drops quickly, leaving behind only spots of lace.

The aroma is of dark chocolate with a touch of background roastiness that's similar to cold black coffee.

The flavor is fuller than the aroma suggests, adding lots of golden and medium dark caramel to the chocolate and soft roast. Some minor yeasty fruitiness peeks through, offering apple and perhaps a touch of raisin. All of the flavor components combine well, and it's gently sweet but balanced by a restrained bitterness. It finishes fairly dry with lingering notes of dark, bittersweet chocolate.

The body is medium to medium-light, and it's really quite smooth with a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation that's just enough to rouse the taste buds.

In the current craft beer scene this beer will most likely be passed over as it's a more traditional and basic beer, but it really deserves merit. Quite charming, and certainly drinkable. Well done!
