A well-balanced ipa, not overly hoppy but also not super malty. Although a good representation of the style, it doesn't really stand out and I certainly wouldn't seek it out again. Worth trying if it's the only craft option on tap, but i prefer sweetwater's more readily available ipa anyway.

Underrated brew...not in my time zone so it is hard to call me a local. All the adjectives that go along with a great IPA are right here in this brew...really nice liquid gold elixir...good drinks.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed 8/17/17. Poured from a 12 oz. can into an El Catador Barrel-Aged glass.

A: Hazy, though not turbid, darkish gold. Just over a finger's worth of off-white head with good retention. Lots of visible carbonation as well as some floaters in suspension. This is fairly pretty.

S: Citrus rind and resin. Milder tropical fruits and vegetal. But the sticky piney aroma predominates. Biscuit malt backbone adds a good bit of sweetness, but I'm not getting caramel on the nose.

T: Bitter conifer and crushed juniper, with orange pith. Big malty sweetness, and some caramel and toffee as well. There’s a bit of oxidation here too – I’m cutting it close to the best-by date on the can, but this is still under the wire. More resin and grapefruit peel at the swallow.

M: A hefty body for an IPA, but not obnoxious. Alcohol presence is about average, as is the carbonation sensation.

O: I mean…it's an adequate IPA from 2009. I'm overlooking what seems to be some oxidation (and therefore a complaint more about the printed best by date rather than the beer itself). It's got an old-school East Coast malt presence, but not a complete caramelly mess, and has a hefty bitterness. It would do in a pinch if you found it somewhere, but I can’t imagine there would be many places that wouldn’t have something that tastes better.

Clear pale yellow in color with almost zero head and the thinnest of collars. Aroma is lacking. Barely any malt at all, zero hop character. Taste is kind of like some kind of industrial cleaner. Thin in body and medium carbonation. I wish this brewery was better considering it's only about 10 minutes away from my parents' new house in Marietta.

On tap at the brewery.

Weedy, grassy, herbal, grapefruit peel aroma: hop-dominant as expected.

Flavor: Hops present a more balanced taste with a touch more fruit. Mild bitterness turns a bit higher in the aftertaste.

Hazy amber body with a durable off-white head.

I have no idea how i got a can of this beer....it poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of sweet malt. The taste started sweet and malty the finished with a bitter hop dryness. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.
