Located across the Marine Barracks in Washington, DC, Molly Malone's looks like your average run-of-the-mill faux Irish bar. But, it has a better than average beer menu.

The atmosphere is what you expect. Lots of wood, polished brass, Guinness posters. It's brighter than most Irish bars though with lots of windows out front.

Beer selection was pretty nice. When I stopped in, it was a hot August day and I was happy to have a few Allagash Whites. The beer list features many prominent craft brands - Dogfish Head, Ommegang, Victory, Lagunitas, Southern Tier, etc. Wide cariety in styles to suit your taste.

Food was typical bar food. We had shared some mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers and they were better than average.

Overall, I think Molly Malone's is a better than average Irish pub. It's located conveniently near Nationals Park so I'll be sure to stop there the next time I'm in time for a ball game.
