Canned on 8/17/15.

Appearance: Light caramel in color and a bit hazy. Soapy white head with some sticky lacing.

Aroma: Very odd. Something chemical/astingent like the smell from a firework after it has gone off mixed with rare tropical fruits.

Taste: More of the same in the flavor with a kick of bitterness and not much malt coming through. I'd say this is a session IPA if I didn't know any better, based on the lack of malt and shallow depth of flavor. Clean finish leading to a bitter and dry aftertaste. Surprising that this is over 6% ABV.

Mouthfeel: Between thin and medium in body and over carbonated. Average drinkability.

Final Thoughts: Just an odd one. With more body and less fizz this one could have been better as there really weren't technical flaws in the flavor, just unusual characteristics. Would I drink it again? Sure, next batch.

Must agree with a couple other reviews... Do not know why this is getting such harsh ratings. I think this pays homage to OB's new(ish) North Carolina facilities by incorporating the east coast style and going beyond their traditional malt-forward and pretty heavy ales. Tropical aromatics, with a wonderful light mouthfeel and playful carbonation. I think this may be one of my favorite IPAs produced on this big of a scale. It's definitely something worth trying and it's definitely going to become a staple for me if they choose to keep this consistent. Definitely believe this is an absolute success.

A great IPA. I'm confused by all the low ratings. OB is always putting out great stuff. I had a 2 Hearted Ale before this, and I can say, I actually like this better. Have we become too inundated with IPA's to respect a great brewery putting out a DISTINCT IPA? I should say no. This thing beats the pants off anything Deshutes, Founders, Boulder, or any of the big boys are putting out. My .02

12oz can with a freshness date, sample purchased as local store.

Crystal clear yellowish golden hue, active carbonation leaves a good trail of white lacing behind. Slightly dank, citrusy, and piney hop nose. Nice crispness within the medium slightly chewy body, there is a good malt base that stands up to waves of juicy hop flavor, hop bitterness, and a clean warming and fruity alcohol. Orange zest, white tea, wild herbs, and mild rind in the middle. Good balance, very drinkable and just unique enough with the hopping to keep me interested in coming back.

Billowy, nearly-two-finger head of slightly taupe-white color. Very thick. Hazy golden honey color. Good IPA looks. Smell is ripe with sticky hop cones and pine sap. Hints of pineapple. Bitter smelling. Very hoppy, yet not overwhelming. Hop aromas and bitterness come through well in the nose, great hopping work. Taste is classic IPA; lots of fresh, wet hops in here. A good malt base lies hidden in here, letting the explosive taste of the hops come through. Very fresh tasting. Not overly bitter, maybe ~70 IBUs? Really well-made IPA. Will satisfy hop lovers but won't alienate the less masochistic among us.

This gives Odell IPA a real run for it's money as the flagship IPA for Colorado. Full of hops flavors, but not a bitter beast. Fresh, tasty and local. Thumbs up.

Appearance: Bright golden glass supports a finger of slightly soapy looking foam that lasts and laces.

Aroma: Tropical fruit, pineapple and mango hop driven citric notes with a sweet malty base promising to soak up all the bitter that comes with those smells.

Taste: Much like the smell, clean with a doughy yeast note. There is a sharp bitter finish that dries and burns a bit, but it's bearable. There is a slight soapy note as well that drags the score a bit, but doesn't ruin the party. A small bubblegum flavor came on later in the beer.

Mouthfeel: Prickly carbonation, medium body is a bit oily.

Overall: Dale's Pale Ale's older brother. Heavier but built from the same stuff., but more of a testament to how great Dale's is. Here it ends up being a good IPA and I don't regret the 6 pack, but more isn't always better.

Poured from a can, freshness date on bottom (always appreciated), into a tulip

L: Mostly clear medium to light golden pour. Two fingers of foamy white head. Falls quickly with great lacing.

S: Tropical fruits and citrus... floral notes. Hops!

T/F: Medium bodied... bready and malty up front. Nice bitter tropical fruit dominant hop profile. Mango and pineapple mixed with grapefruit and pine. Medium bodied... well carbonated. Finish is tropical fruits and faux sweetness.

O: A pretty damned good IPA. Nothing fancy, but well crafted and certainly above average. A great any-time kinda beer.

Pours into a standard pint a dull light to medium golden with a thinner but well sustained white head atop.Big grapefruit notes in the nose along with some fresh mown grass.Alot like Gubna there is a big sweet onion element to this beer, maybe not quite as big big but there is a real presence.Grapefruit sharpness and a biscuity malt base finish out the palate.I like it but can't drink alot of it,the onion presence at least to me plays to big of a role on the palate.Just my opinion.

Canned 9/15/15 in North Carolina.
Poured from can to pint glass. Super foamy, puffy head however bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass fade fast.
Smells of subdued resin, some grass some citrus.
The taste is pleasurably bitter, finishes very dry.

Looks good, light honey color with a lasting head. Smell of bright citrus, medium hoppy taste with relatively short finish. Entirely inoffensive.

12 oz can. Pours clear straw yellow with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is tropical fruits and catty dank resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet fruit with some dank resiny hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and fairly watery.

Overall, like a lighter more watery Deviant Dale's with a little more fruit.

8-10-15 stamped on the bottom of the 12 oz can - quality IPA in a can - life is good

Light straw, near clear,
long lasting cap, goes to a fine film and leaves nice looking delicate sheeting.

Herbal, fruity and yes "dank" nose, nice

More of the same on the palate, better then average hop package, again kinda herbal n fruit/citric.

Solid, if not amazing
