L - 1-finger thick mocha head atop a tar-black body.

S - coffee, vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, a little bourbon.

T - follows the nose. Coffee recedes slightly, with bourbon to the forefront. Low bitterness. Low sweetness. Moderate-low booziness.

F - medium-full body with appropriate carb.

O - exactly what I hoped for.

Stovepipe can canned on 4/4/19 “PERKY BREWSTER” on the bottom of my can. Poured into a tulip glass.
Pitch black, mocha colored and finely bubbled half inch of head. Spotty lacing on my glass.
Raisin, smoke and ash, dark chocolate, heavy roast, light hint of vanilla on the nose. This is a big beer with a lot going on. First is dark chocolate and heavy roast. Following is dark roast coffee, burnt chocolate cake, vanilla, a lot of whiskey and wood. Moderate amount of heat present.
Thick mouthfeel, creamy mouthfeel with just a bit too much carbonation for my tastes. It’s not enough for me to knock it down.
Overall, this is a really tasty beer. I had higher hopes for it though. It seems a bit choppy and thrown together rather than other big adjunct barrel aged stouts. I have another can, I’ll let it age and see if that does anything to smooth out some of the heat and mellow the flavors.

Tallboy can. Snifter glass. Medium dark black body, one finger offwhite head, good retention, not much lacing. Smell is big coffee, milk chocolate, a touch of vanilla, dark roasted malt. Touch of cocoa. Flavour has more of a slightly boozy barrel to it, otherwise it is as the nose suggests. Medium full bodied, good carbonation. Decent coffee bitterness on the backend. Not as much vanilla as I would expect on the finish.

Cleared a stovepipe while stuck inside for the 1/19 Polar Vortex.
L: Pours dark black with a brown head that doesn't stay around too long, but more than some big BA Stouts.
S: Strong, boozy nose, maybe a little sweetness.
T: Bourbon with a hint of coffee, and then sweetness from the vanilla as a nice touch at the end.
F: Medium-plus body
O: Enjoyable, particularly in this kind of weather.

Thanks go out to Tyler for the can!

Canned April 18th.

Pitch black pour with oodles of tan foam.

It smells of Bourbon, vanilla, molasses, light coffee.

Bourbon and vanilla rule the taste. Some molasses, coffee is most noticeable in the finish, booze is lively, overall sweet with low bitterness.

Creamy full mouthfeel.

Quite the treat.

Had on tap. So much coffee, yet artfully done! The vanilla is not overwhelming, but comes in as support to the huge dark roast coffee and dark chocolate flavors. Plenty of bourbon heat on this one too, slight molasses, licorice and leather. A big, big beer in the feel. Come ready for the fight on this one, it is powerful

Very dark appearance with nice dark tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is vanilla with a coffee hint. Taste is an even blend of code and vanilla that is very pleasant without any alcohol aftertaste.

On-tap at Heinen's in Mayfield Village, Ohio

Pours black with a small mocha head that falls leaving nice retention and lacing. The aromas are balanced between chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Roasted malts are there. The flavors are amazing. Lots of vanilla and coffee. Lots of rich dark chocolate. There's a nice amount of hazelnut, especially in the finish. Hints of coconut in the mix. Malts do their thing. There's a mild warmth in the finish, but the alcohol basically goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is great. It's full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's thick and velvety. It drinks like a pretty big brew despite being very smooth and dangerously drinkable.

This is an awesome stout. I'm blown away. Great variation of an already awesome classic stout. Everything is hitting on all cylinders. Highly recommended if you come across it.
