Shared by cmrillo during BRoss242’s send-off party before he moves! Will miss you man! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller taster flute. Poured dark brown with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, wood, vanilla, and tart cherry. The flavor was of sweet malt, caramel, wood, vanilla, and sweet alcohol. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. The notes of bourbon on this one have really stuck around quite nicely and added a really nice level of complexity to an already solid brew. The vanilla kiss from this one definitely took the base brew to a new level and really kept me guessing on what I would pick up on next. The tart cherry was a little bit of a surprise if I am honest, but it did work quite well with everything else going on here. A definite must try if you have not done so before regardless of how you have to go about doing so.

19.2 oz. Can
Chubna Barrel-Aged Imperial Scotch IPA
Aged in Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels
Canned On: 04/14/16
ABV:12.6%
Poured in a Roosters true pint glass a very nice dark golden brownish/amber color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, pretty nice bourbon/oak notes, and some vanilla. The taste is pretty nice, malty, very nice vanilla note, very very nice bourbon/oakyness, nice sweetness. Full body, ABV hidden pretty well. Overall, a very tasty brew, but might not be for everybody. Nice Job OB!

Had at a tasting. I had this right next to Old Chub. The thing that hits you is how much more creamy this is than the regular. The bourbon is very present but not overpowering.

This was ages in Ridgemont 1792 Bourbon barrels for 10 months. Frankly, it didn't t add much to the flavor. Kind of disappointing.

This review is for the whiskey barrel aged version that was served at Hunahpu’s day 2014. On draft and poured into Huna’s day souvenir taster glass. Cola brown and clear with thin tan head. Smells of malt, whiskey, wood, coconut, caramel, and toffee. Strong barrel notes come on the taste with coconut, wood, and vanilla leading the way. Malt, peat, caramel, and brown sugar come mid-palate with moderately strong sweetness. Boozy burn on the swallow. Medium-full body, sticky thick texture, nearly flat carbonation, boozy sweet finish.
