12oz can. Sample from the brewery. Tropical wheat beer brewed with French's Mustard and other natural flavors. Brewed in collaboration with French's for National Mustard Day on August 1, 2020. #MustardBeer

Semi-opaque, pale yellow with a tight, creamy head and lacing with plenty of stick. Aroma is slightly pungent and perfumy. It stings the nostrils with mustard powder, notes of peppercorns, spices, and citric suggestions. Smells like...mustard! Light-bodied, lively, and super creamy on the palate. Fruity with tropical, citrus, and some Juicy Fruit gum suggestions. Soft wheat malt backbone. Not very sweet. There's a nice citric tartness that's a bit lemon-limey, which works well as the yellow mustard tanginess that emerges with hints of pepper, turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, and even some saltiness. Everything that's in French's Classic Yellow Mustard, basically. Finish is quite dry, a bit husky, and very moreish. Long-lasting, spicy, mustard linger. The finish might be my favorite part.

Over-the-top marketing crap aside, I loved Mustard Beer. Sure, it's gimmicky AF, but it's fun, surprisingly balanced, refreshingly crushable, and full of tangy yellow mustard goodness. But I'm also a fan of mustard and beer. If you're not a fan of mustard, you'll probably want to pass on this one and stick to destroying hotdogs with ketchup.
