This poured a deeply sweet looking orange color with a soft glow from the body of the beer. Clear and had streaming bubbles coming up from the center. The head was short but had an orange tint to it and fell to a scant cap and ring. Not at all unpleasant to look at and my first thought was that the color was exceptionally deep and inviting. The nose was light pine and orange fruits. Tart citrus and sweet and generous honey. Tiny bit of spice to tickle the nose. Taste is hop forward. The tangerine and clementine fruit greets the palate first and fills the mouth with it's flavor both sweet and pithy. Then the tart settles it down while the bready malt rides over the mid palate. The honey is not as sweet as on the nose. It's a smooth and round malt that carries these hops in style to a plucky and bitter finish. It's dry and has a medium mouthfeel. There's no alcohol on the nose but there is a touch in the drink and it's ok because from your first sight of this beer it appears strong.

This was a tremendous hopped up pale ale that is not the usual fare. It was fruity and bold but had a smooth and graceful malt. Easy to drink and really made you wonder if this was an IPA. Had a winning flavor profile that did not try to clutter the palate and had a nice mineral quality as well. Well done.
