Pours a beautiful deep shade of amber, bordering on red, with a huge fluffy head by IPA standards that lingers. The aroma is strong enough to smell without even bringing my nose to the glass, bursting with pine resin, some hints of dark fruits, brown sugar, and some dank, earthy notes. Taste is the closest thing I have likely ever found in regards to balancing the bitter, piney taste of hops with the sweet tastes of honey and caramel malt. Hides the 8% better than some, but you can still tell that this is a huge beer. This is partially due to the full body, and an almost sticky mouthfeel, which I really enjoy in just about any beer. Overall a fantastic double IPA, and possibly one of my new favorites.

Pint can poured into a nonic pint glass
A: Pours hazy deep orange amber with a creamy light tan head that settles and laces fairly well.
S: Dank, citrus and light tropical fruit, some pine, a bit of herbal spice, and a little caramel malt sweetness.
T: Citrus hops, grapefruit, light tangerine, a little tropical fruit, mango, some spicy herbal dankness, a touch of pine, all backed with caramel malt sweetness.
M: On the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Very solid, very dank IPA.

Canned on 2/24/12.
Pours a clear copper color with a 1 inch puffy orange-white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. A latticework of small dots and streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of herbal and vegetal hops. There is a slight onion/garlic aroma but nothing like Gubna. Taste is of herbal and vegetal hops with a slight malt presence. There is a medium amount of bitterness on the palate after each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good IPA but the vegetal hop aromas and flavors aren't my cup of tea.

Was excited to try the souped up version of Dale's Pale Ale. Little pricey but worth it to try a newly available beer here in Beaumont, Texas. I really like Oskar Blues so couldn't pass up the overpriced beer anyway.
Look: amber, copper, red color ale with a lot of lacing and a decent head.
Smell: malts, astringent but clean hops, red/amber IPA character.
Taste: like a malty, red IPA with a good bit of the described hops in the smell to keep things balanced. I've tasted beers with 3/4 the alcohol that are more offensive. Taste is pretty good but nothing outstanding. The feel is where it is at.
Feel: Easy drinker, refreshing, sits well, relatively light for the alcohol. Great taste, easy to session despite the high alcohol (haha). Downed 4 and I don't feel full, great buzz and an awesome beer.
Quick summary: Beer could be a lot more tasty or more unique, not as dull, but I'll be damned if it's not really refreshing and feels good. Thanks OB.

12 oz can. Pours clean deep amber orange with thick white head that just sits there, coating bubbly lace. Aroma of sweet malt and pine. Taste up front is malty caramel sweet, met by big resiny pine bitterness that lasts. Medium feel. Really solid west coast style DIPA.

Clear amber yellowish orange with a large frothy off-white head that just sits there for a while. Good sticky lacing.
Big complex hop bouquet, leading off with a floralness, a touch of sweet malt mixed in, before getting some citrus and pine. Tropical and tasty, very inticing.
Big hoppy blast with a sticy sweet maltiness. The hops are more bitter than I was wanting from the awesome aroma, but the complexity I was expecting is there, with the pine and citrus. Definitely a flavor explosion.
Moderately heavy with an average carb, and plenty of residue after the swallow. A pleasantly interesting feel.
Super nice IPA, bordering in a double. A definite sipper and worth savoring every drop. One of my new favorites.
