64oz growler poured into my 3Floyds pint glass.

A- A light reddish amber colored ale. Very clear and opaque. Pours with a nice white head that fades off pretty quickly.

S- Smells extremely sweet and malty. Hints of caramel, molassass, and some fruity flavors. Almost smells like fruity pebbles, or watermelon.

T- Much like the smell. Strong sweet malt profile, with some interesting fruity notes. I can't quite place it, but it is almost like melon. There are some nice touches of hops in the aftertaste, but needed more bittering IMO.

M- A little on the flat and syrupy side, but certainly not undrinkable. It had a nice body, but just not enough carbonation to hold it together. The sweetness is just too much.

O- Overall this was a little overboard with the malt, and got hard to drink after the first glass. While it certainly wasn't bad, it needed something to balance out the sweet malty backbone.

Poured on-tap and served in a true pint, the beer is a hazy, almost opaque, brown-gold blending that is light around the edges. Tall, frothy, small bubbled foam atop the brew in a creamy, light tan coloring. Aromas are sweet and resiny hops first, with a good citrus component blending with a light caramel sweetness. The beer's flavors are strong and smooth, giving your tastebuds a punch of peppery, resiny, bitter hops leading the way for the smooth, slightly boozey malt background. Starts out hop heavy, but finished surprisingly balanced. Great lace left along the glass as you drink, and the body is smooth and light throughout. The aftertaste is a slight toffee sweetness, which is subtle and slightly overpowered by the steady bitterness and cedar/peet from the hops. Slightly drying finish. This is a good beer, and complex in that it transitions from unbalanced to balanced and back to hop heavy again. Very tasty!

The beer list at Max's actually listed this as an IPA, but I agree with the characterization here... strong ale is more like it.

The beer pours a copper amber color with good head retention and considerable lacing. The nose is likewise attractive, as I pick up considerable tropical fruit, along with some underlying citrus and light tobacco aroma. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, and franky I thought this "IPA" a bit sweeter/maltier than I generally prefer. Also, I thought the beer was a bit hot on the finish, with some noticeable alcohol. While still tasty, this beer just came across as a bit more boozy and sweet then I generally like to see, and so I just ordered the one at Max's.

Still a pretty solid beer though...

Pours slightly darker than a pale ale. Almost has a reddish tint to it. Smells sweet. Great balanced flavor from citrus and hops. Not as bitter as a Dale's Pale Ale on the back end. Good beer. Glad to have tried it.

A - The body was a glowing orange color that had a bit of haze to it...a two finger, white head formed and slowly fell to a thin cap...nice lacing was left

S - There's a considerable amount of juicy hops...grapefruit, lemon, and orange...there is also a high sweetness level to the nose

T - Juicy hops continue to follow through on the palate...the citrus level is very high bringing forward notes of grapefruit and lemon...the sweet flavors creep in towards the end of the beer...caramel is a front runner with toffee coming in towards the finish...it creates a dark, sweet fruit finish

M - Medium bodied...resiny, oily, sweeter than expected

O - I didn't think I could go wrong ordering a new hoppy Oskar Blues beer...and it didn't disappoint...the nose was nice, the flavors played well together, the finish was just a touch too sweet for my liking

On tap at Friscos

Pours a copper-orange color with a off white head that slowly fades to a thin collar with nice lacing. Very sweet, hoppy aroma, tangerine and other tangy citrus dominate with a strong amount of booze presence as well. Flavor is very sweet and fruity without being particularly bitter; tangerine and lemon with caramel malt and noticeable heat. Medium bodied, slick and oily on the palate. The sweetness and booze left me fatigued and unwilling to finish the pint.

On tap at Rackhouse Pub, I'd heard about this and was happy to get a shot at it. This is definitely a strong ale and not a DIPA. Dark amber orange color. Smell is hoppy pineapple and sweet malts. Flavor is sweet, malty, fresh hops, alchol and malt. A little too sweet for my taste and really is a strong ale but overall not bad. I'd rather they made a fresh hopped dale's though.
