This was on tap at Star Bar for DenverOfftheWagon (blog) anniversary party. Aged in Leopold Bros. Apple Whisky barrels
A sharp red appearance with a gold backing. Bright. No head. Looks like thick whisky
Apple skin and juice aroma. It's soft and sweet, but not sugary. A faint appearance of citrus/green pine
Leopold Bros makes some fine whisky. Their flavors are fantastic, and apparently dominant. This beer has apple whisky flavor without the burn. It's smooth...almost like a cider. The malt is overpowered, but the hops do make a stand. Subtle citrus and pine, but their bite helps scrub the apple in and then out.
Nice body in the end, especially after it looked so thin and whisky-ish.
A nice one
