RB

On tap tonight at Bittercreek.. Pours the expected black with a short lived brownish head that produced a decent enough lacing... West Coast pithy hops with a nice smack of roast and a light body... Balanced toward the hops, but nothing gets overwhelming making for a very drinkable brew.

3.75 across the board.

Ha this at the brew pub!!! Pours up black with a big 'ol brown head. Nice lacing. Nose is dark toasty malts, hints of cocoa, a kiss of vanilla, big citrus hops. Taste is the same as the nose. Very very tasty beverage. Medium bodied, crispy carbo. Very nice brew.

Not your typical IPA. Dark, frothy and reminds me of a dark lager. However, the mild hops mixed with a heavily toasted malt is unique and not bad. The mouth feel of this is what wins, and the hops are not as forward as you would expect. This should be in its own category. Overall I like this, but could not do too many, not as crisp and refreshing as your typical IPA but still good. I would certainly have this again if they only sold them in cans or bottles.
