B.D.G. (Brunch. Dinner. Grub.) Country Ale: Matching the right beer to the right food is a wonderful assignment. The contemplation of point and counter-point can often be as much fun as the reward of good pairing. Sadly, in a life well lived there is not always time to contemplate what dinner will be, let alone what beverage will play best with it. Here we have selected malts to evoke the crusty breads that sit well next to every meal and seasoned it with the lemony, tarragon/thyme notes of Aramis hops. A go-to, food friendly ale for the table. Drink B.D.G because you are what you eat... and drink.

Thanks to Jonphisher for this one. 16oz can (no date) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a mostly clear (slight chill haze) dark bronze color with an inch of long-lasting head that had good lacing.
A very nice scent had some biscuit/ grain in the front, some yeast spiciness, and some fruity hops on the edges.
Very similar on the tongue, the hops were a bit brighter, and I picked up a touch of leather on the finish.
The body was a bit on the light side of medium, smooth, carried good carb throughout, and had a semi-dry finish.
Drinkability was very good. This beer is an easy drinker on its own, and likely would pair well with a variety of meals.
Overall, another very nice brew from these guys. Their stated aim on the can was to make a food-friendly brew, and they did that well. A must-try if you see it.

Can. Pours brown. Trash move calling this a table beer. Its a relatively high ABV brown ale? Through the lens of a brown ale, it smells and tastes decent. Bready and dried brown malty aroma. Not overly sweet. Flavor brings forth more bready notes. Maybe rye. Also a noticeable hop aroma and flavor. Probably too bitter. Hint of booze. Sort of a strange invention with an oddly aimed intention.

Looking more like a Newcastle, a nice, light, toasty brown that has some aspects of a slightly hoppy amber ale.

Picked-up a single can at Monde Market in Philadelphia for about four dollars. Have never had brew from these guys before. Decent brew, not my favorite style.

Looks deep honey color with a foamy head, which quickly recedes. Leaves faint lacing on glass. Smells like lemon, earthy, food spices, fresh dough. Tastes like baguette crust with tarragon and lemon and thyme. Feels almost dry, nice carbonation. Really delicious brew.

Many thanks to SammyJaxxxx for this can.
A - Pours a hazy dark amber brown color with a frothy white lacing ring and mild carbonation.
S - Earthy roasted malt aroma with bread crust
T - Earthy toasted/roasted malt, bread crust, some delicate lemon pops up more towards the end of the sip, and finishes with a long, lingering piney/citrus bitterness.
M - Medium body with some creaminess to the mouthfeel, leaves a wet mouth but a bone dry tongue.
O - Not a fan at all of Brown Ales but this one rates at the top of the heap, IMO. Nicely done and worth trying.
