Style: Milk / Sweet Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
The key to a sessionable beer is the way it evolves over time well spent. Here we took an extremely dark malt bill and dulled its edges with the addition of lactose and nitro conditioning, then we wafted black currant notes of Bullion hops through the middle. Nuanced to keep it an interesting part of a gathering while neither dominating nor being inconsequential to banter. Drink Carton Of Milk because it does a session good.

Poured from a growler. Love the delicious roasted flavour, which is definitely the highlight on this one. And it also has a nice mouth feel for the ABV.

Had a pint at Owl Farm and loved it. It's a deep, flavorful milk stout with the drinkability of a great dry stout. There are big roasted cocoa and fresh coffee tastes, and then the lactose sweetness slides in to balance the beer. Great balance, fun to drink, go get a glass.

Love the roasty malts here. Such an interesting beer. Nice smooth mouth feel and just a little bit of sweetness in there to. Hats off to carton once again.

On nitro tap at World of Beer in Guilderland, NY.

This one pours with the wonderful cascading nitro effect, and settles to a dark glossy black, with a tight, foamy bone-white head, and tons of lacing. Poured well, which is nice.

Smells like dark, charred roasted malt, lactose, and dark chocolate.

This is honestly the first nitro beer that I've ever enjoyed. This is super dry, doesn't feel a whole lot like a milk stout, more like an Irish dry stout, but that's ok. As it warms, some lactose sweetness, but it's mostly all bitter dark roasted malt. As stated in the aroma, the roasted malt almost has a charred character to it. There's some bitter dark chocolate, and vanilla creaminess from the nitro.

This is medium bodied, it borders on watery, but luckily doesn't go too far down that road. It's got an insanely creamy mouthfeel.

This was delicious, and one of the most drinkable stouts I've ever had.
