Unknown vintage; drank 1/9/17 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy orange/red appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big, noisy white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.

Caramel, cane sugar & grapefruit notes in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Caramel, cane sugar & fruit punch flavors up front; dry grass & grapefruit notes on the finish.

A sweet, dry American barleywine to this palate; just OK.

Don't let the low average rating fool you on this one. This beer is a perfectly balanced take on the classic DIPA. Many BAs these days are always ISO the next extreme, bitter, hop bomb and you won't find that here. Instead, what you get is a full, thick, deep colored IPA with hops bringing forth a tangerine taste, but not so much that you'd think that tangerines were actually added. All facets of this brew mingle together wonderfully to bring you an enjoyable drinking experience no matter the situation, whether it be a hot afternoon, with your dinner, or part of a full out beer-binge session.

An all out success created by two highly respected breweries. Cheers AtG and Amager!

Picked this up at the local shop, was told it came today. Drank it with a burger. I definitely enjoyed it, while not necessarily being innovative, it delivered what it promises in the can, big, clean and classic double IPA.

L: Like a newly purchased copper pipe. Really pretty. Pours slightly hazy, clears up real quick though. Nice head on it, dissipates fast.

S: Floral orange notes. Reminds me of walking down the streets of suburban Athens, with the orange trees in full blossom lining the streets.

T: The smell doesn't lie, orange notes, flowers on the nose. A pleasant bitterness lingers on the tongue, enhancing the floral characteristics that linger. Alcohol is warming but well hidden.

F: a bit syrupy but still pleasant. Probabky the weakest part of the beer.

O: enjoyed it, it's a delicious IPA that just explodes with orange blossom flavors

Copper in color with a light haziness. There's a frothy and fairly dense two inch tan head resting on top. Moderate lacing. The aroma is of citrus fruit, perhaps tangerine and also light malt. The taste is sharply bitter tangerine and grapefruit. There's light malt in the back of the palate. The mouth is dry, somewhat chalky, and sticky.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a tulip glass. Had a dark orange color and a thick, cloudy texture. There was an inch of foamy head that lasted a very long time. Excellent lacing.

S: A decent aroma of hops, light citrus fruit, malt, and a floral quality.

T: Tasted of some light citrus notes (grapefruit, orange, especially), a fair amount of hops, light malt notes, a little bit of grassiness, and the aforementioned floral quality. This isn't a bad flavor, but it is a bit on the thin side. Its hoppiness is more akin a regular IPA than a DIPA. Nonetheless, it's oddly enjoyable.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a mostly smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: While this beer has its hiccups (the flavor), it's still a likable beer. Worth a look.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy medium coppery amber with a half finger off-white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and lightly dank hops, grapefruit and orange citrus, overripe tropical fruit, a hint of light melon. Flavor is mildly sweet caramel malt, citrus and lightly piney and grassy hops with a bit of dankness, grapefruit and orange citrus, light tropical fruit; finishes with resinous citrus hops, grapefruit and lemon rind, a bit astringent. Medium to full bodied with good creaminess. A very citrus forward imperial IPA, with some quite realistic orange family citrus and grapefruit flavors. The body and malt support the rather robust hopping. The finish is a little bit rough, but the bright orange flavors really redeem this one. Interesting and worth a try.

Amarillo and Mosaic hops at play in this medium-amber-colored beer. Reasonably balanced with the malts, it presents a medium-ish feel on the palate, smooth and moderately carbonated. The aromas and flavors have a muddled character, and while I see other reviewers citing orange as a prominent flavor, I didn't find it as distinct. I got a mélange of tropical, floral, citric, and even herbal pine impressions, all mashed together with malt grains impressions of lightly sweet wheat and honeyed dark bread. Enjoyed the beer thoroughly.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 1 pt can on December 30, 2016. This collaboration with Amager Bryghus is a bit disappointing. It's not bad, but it's nothing special either. I suppose it's worth a try, but I won't back for seconds.
