look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5
Presentation: A half Litre brown glass bottle. The obverse label has a very regal look. A wide gold oval label with white hints and metallic red writing. Labeled as Bere Cluj URSUS Fondat 1878 Pemium. I guess this is the 125th Anniversary beer as the obverse label has a small celebratory decal that raise the profile of this Romanian marvel. Gold foil and a crown cap complete the presentation. Labeled as 5% ABV, and the Best Before Date is printed as 17.02.04 / 1.17.33, I hope the latter is the time of bottling and not the Best Before Date!
Appearance: A light golden body with straw hints. One dimensional with a Euro Lager appearance, the head is white but thin.
Nose: Smells interesting but not special. Saaz like Pilsner nose that is spoiled with a sweet bread and yeast aroma that is sticky.
Taste: Clean to start with but thin hops and a mild malt feel entrance the beer. It finishes with a mild hoppy feel that is diluted. Not much to write home about.
Mouthfeel: Average, neither thin nor wholesome. But well, just Average.
Drinkability: Not bad, goes down relatively easily but its not a quaffer.
Overall: Romanian Beer. Hmmm, something different, like Morris Dancing or Sky-Diving, you may want to try it once, for the hell of it, but not again. Do it to say you have!

Gold transparent. Grassy hop nose with a friendly enough - some say even hop season - but unfortunately out of steam quickly in the mouth. Grassy side a little poorly managed, through a little sweetness. Is lost in traditional Czech side that we win as hops. The body is weak rapidly, as the finish, which is a little sad. However the beer is quite nice and much nicer than many lagers.

This is THE king of beer in Romania
Appearance: On tap, it pours a not-too-bad-looking pale straw color with a foamy one and a 2 finger head. Honestly, it's not too bad looking, and the head doesn't look so bad seems like Fosters , it doesn't taste as good as it looks.
Smell: Really not a lot in the way of smell, just some faint some sweet malts that seem almost artificial.
Taste: Tastes like some watered down grassy hops up front and finishes little bitter.
Mouthfeel: Not too bad. It's an adjunct lager, so what can you expect?
Drinkability: very refreshing and light is quite drinkable
Overall, this is a pretty standard light lager. It's nothing really special and I probably will never have it again.

1 litre plastic bottle served cold into an unbranded bierkrug in me friend's gaff in Bucharest. Best before: 21.10.14. Expectations are low.
No bubble show forms as it's poured.
HEAD: White head. Fizzles out within 10 seconds.
BODY: Clear translucent yellow-copper of average vibrance. Clean; no yeast particulate or hop sediment is visible.
Standard appearance for the style overall. Unremarkable.
AROMA: Light aroma of generic helles malt sweetness and barley. That's it.
TASTE/TEXTURE: Helles malts, generic sweetness, low quality barley, and some syrupy malt character. Quite simple, but it has a loose cohesion.
Overly thick and hefty on the palate. Overcarbonated. Smooth and wet.
Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour.
I like it in a general sense, but it leaves a lot to be desired.
OVERALL: It's a boring macrolager with nothing to offer the discerning drinker. About what you'd expect from a SAB Miller macrolager. Meh.

Got it in can,i guess less better then in glass.
A - Nice big white head, pale orange color, few bubbles. Foam lasting more then few minutes.
S - Light citrus notes, pale malt. Nothing special in it.
T/M - Taste is more then decent, high bitter aftertaste, very close to Czech pilsner. Maybe a bit adjunct aftertaste, not so pleasant after you drink more then 2 cans. Also not so malty taste, but there is some decent amount of barley.
O - I know this is classic industrial EPL,but must admit that they made it more then fine.

330 ml bottle. Clear light golden color with white head. Aroma has sweet malt and bread, some corn maybe, generic cardboard bitterness. Taste follows with dusty grains, cardboard bitterness, quite harsh on the finish. Light body with medium carbonation. Quite bad, even for a macro.
