Finally! Over the years, various new bars and pizza joints in Bowling Green have pre-opening promised good beer on tap and a wide bottle selection, only to be swayed in the end by desire to push large quantities of BMC to the uncaring masses.

Happily, Lost River Pizza Co. made good on the promise. Opened as a second-career endeavor, there was obviously a good deal of forethought in the concept. It is first and foremost a pizza place, offering thin crust and deep dish. I think they are still tweaking the deep dish, as my crust was rather thin. Tasty, nonetheless. Secondly, this is along the lines of a sports bar. Lots of televisions with lots of different games. And loud. Not the place for quiet conversation and contemplation of a pint, but a good place to catch a game with friends.

Beer is the third aspect of the place. My review at this point is foregiving, as the place has only been open a week, and anyplace needs a little time to work the kinks out. Not to have been open any longer than this, they still managed to do a pretty good job while still being slammed with customers. The tap wall behind the bar boasts about 30 taps, most of which were craft beer. They are working out supply issues, as half the taps were out. We orderd Two Hearted, for which they had just hooked up a fresh keg. They managed to pull us all a beer, but closed the tap until the keg settled, as they were dumping a lot of foam to get our glasses filled. I'm sure this will be worked out in the near future.

Tap selection anywhere else would be okay, but for Bowling Green it is the best you can find. Various offerings from Bells, Rogue, Founders, Goose Island. A nice bottle selection, including a wide variety of Stone.

I'll give them a while to find their sea legs, but I believe this will turn out to be a very nice place.

After a day at Mammoth Cave, we stopped at Lost River for a snack and some beers since the reviews on Beer Advocate were pretty solid. Upon entering, the place looked pretty cool - booths and tables with a bar towards the back and all in nice, dark wood. Since it was only 4:00 p.m. on a Monday, the place was dead, which made our service pretty good.

We sat at the bar, and our very nice bartender asked what we wanted; when we asked what was on tap, she pointed to two TVs in either corner and also said we could download an app that would tell us. We stared at the TVs, waiting for all the beers to scroll, and realized the breweries weren't listed along with the beer names, which would have been a plus. The beer selection was OK, but nothing special. Three Floyd's Alpha King, Gumball and Bell's Expedition and Cherry Stouts to name a few.

We then placed our order for what sounded pretty delicious - tater tots doused in mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and marinara sauce. After eating about half, we decided it really wasn't that good, which was sad since I like all those things; they just didn't go together.

We left after that one drink (which was $1 off) and one app (which was half off during the 4:00-7:00 happy hour). As others have said, if you want good pizza, do yourself a favor and drive a couple of miles to Mellow Mushroom.

Lost River Pizza Co. has great food. To go with their amazing food, they have a great beer selection with new beers going on several times a week. Lost River Pizza has a very nice atmosphere, with lots of stained hardwood paneling, rusted barn tin and stone. They have plenty of TVs to watch all your favorite sports on too. They do a Pint Night on Wednesdays and a Flight Night now on Thursdays with some great themed Flights. Awesome place!

First heard of this place on Facebook, decided to try it one Saturday afternoon, which was a wise decision. What first attracted me was the selection of beers, better than any restaurant I'd eaten in. 30 beers on tap & more than that in bottles, great place to try something new. Delicious food, something for everyone. Most of thier pizzas are available in a personal size, which is good for me, lets me try new flavors with just the right portions. Friendly staff & superb service. Local musicians play music on weekends, also shows sporting events from all the major sports. Highly recommended, fun times to be had there.
