The Brave Horse Tavern appears to be an extremely popular after-work gathering place, located as it is in the heart of Seattle's tech biz district in South Lake Union. Lots of nerds sampling good food and drinking good beers; mostly the kind of place I could get into. Dim and dark, with lots of chatter and camaraderie going on.
I thought the tap list was pretty good, with at least 20 handles of good and not necessarily easy-to-find offerings. The bottle list has plenty of Belgians but nothing particularly out of the ordinary, at least on my visit. The service is reasonable, though basically just efficient bar service and not necessarily beer-centric.
This is a Tom Douglas establishment, so the food, as you might expect, is pretty good. I had the fried cheese curds, which were probably the best fried cheese product I've ever had (although, frankly, they could have been subpar and I would have liked them because -- hey! fried cheese!). I didn't delve deeper into the menu, but the offerings looked good and the prices seemed surprisingly reasonable given the location and name on the door.

too crowded for me during peak hours but a good spot when it is quiet. lots of beers on tap and usually a lot of good ones. food is just average but the pretzels are a nice snack while enjoying a beer.

A: First off, the area around here is a bitch when it comes to parking! It is also close to the Mercer Mess. Seattlites know what I mean! The place is very deceiving. We walked up to a seemingly quiet place, walked into a busy crap storm. Very busy, appears a bit trendy. Not much on a beer culture and it is pretty obvious.
Q: The draft list was sort good but a snoozer. Nothing new, rare or impressive. However, the bottle list was a bit better than the draft list. I had a De Proeuf Reinart Flemish Wild. Quality place and beer.
S: Mot bad, very friendly but when a server asks is the Flanders good and what does it taste like and the bartender says I don't know, I guess so then I was enlightened and it solidified my initial thoughts. This is a good spot but not a destination for a beer geek. The staff has no idea what they are recommeminding
S: Good, Like I said, nothing exceptional, rather boring but not bad. The bottle list is nicer than the draft.
F: The pretzel with fondue cheese was good,
