The colour is dark ruby red; the liquid is clear. The two finger head is airy and beige-brown; it sinks down to a thin lid leaving no lacing.
The smell is malty with malty notes of nuts, red berries, molasses and toasted bread. Hints of rye crisp bread. It is not very sweet, nor heavy.
The taste is malty and smooth, notes of hazelnuts, rye crisp bread, well done meat and a slight touch of hay-ish bitterness. Light to medium body. The aftertaste got even more brown malts, crisp bread, dark rye bread (pumpernickel) and some hay/dried flowers. The mild finish got some dough and a hint of anise.
The carbonation is medium strong; the small fresh bubbles are long-lived. The liquid is light and semi-smooth.
A mild lacking depth and sweetness. Still quite OK and highly drinkable.
