Tasty, smooth, and packs a punch. I'll definitely drink this beer again.

On tap at Golden Road Brewing in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and cookie dough aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa, molasses, and licorice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a slightly better set of aromas in my opinion.

On cask at Mohawk Bend
Bartender said this was Golden Road's latest offering.

A - Black as night how does one truly judge the appearance of a RIS in candle light?

S - Lightly toasted marshmallow and chocolate.

T - chocolate, vanilla, coffee.

M - Creamy and thick but not overly sticky.

Not very boozy at 8.6 %, which is a welcome change from so many over-the-top RIS.
