It poured a cloudy yellow ( almost an apricot color) with a foamy white head that leaves a good lacing to the glass. The smell is very citrus, grapefruit with maybe a hint of mango. The taste is citrus with some sweetness to it. The mouthful is light, smooth and very enjoyable. Overall I was very pleased.

12oz can. Pours a pale straw color with a thin layer of bubbles. No lacing. The aroma is packed with citrus and tropical fruits. Some berries and light dank notes. The taste is on par with the aroma. Pineapple, grapefruit, lime, papaya, melon, and some stone fruits. A bit floral at the finish with light crackery malts. Light body and carbonation. This is probably in the running for one of the top Session IPAs I've had. I will certainly be buying more of this next summer.

I am constantly on the hunt for a session IPA that can blend choice hop blends, low alcohol content (but not too low) and a refreshing burst of taste. Golden Road's Wolf Pup nailed it for me. Very golden color (almost like a lager). Pine needles, citrusy hoppy smell. Not too hoppy in the aftertaste, no strong alcohol lingering on the palate. You can drink about 3 of these before the "feel". Just moved on from Luponic Distortion by Firestone to Wolf Pup for my everyday "go to" beer. If you are looking for an IPA that you can drink and still be able to finish work around the house, this is the beer. Years ago, before I became a beer snob, I would drink ice cold Coors Light as my lawn mowing beer because it was like drinking water but you also felt like you were rewarding yourself. Since then I've moved onto session IPAs and low alcohol content IPAs as my lawn mowing beer. Wolf Pup has knocked it out of the park for me in this category.

I'm not really a lover of all things citrus, but this is surprisingly enjoyable. The citrus flavor was pretty obvious from the nose. Not too acidic despite the citrus. Specifically, it tastes more like grapefruit than generic citrus. Not especially hoppy, but plenty to enjoy. When I poured from the can, the head was nice and pleasant -- dissipated moderately, but I'm not the best at pouring anyway. Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. In fact, the whole experience is both crisp and refreshing. The color certainly reminds me of grapefruit, which would usually steer me away. But I'm actually really enjoying it about 3/4 done with the glass.

My local Hyvee had this on sale for $4.99 so I had to get a six pack. I really couldn't ask for more for from a session IPA. Pours a nice cloudy yellow with a moderate head that quickly dissipates to some beautiful lacing. Delicious citrus flavor with a nice hoppy finish. Sparkling mouth feel with a nice clean finish. I am going back to pick up a case if they still have any. I would recommend it at twice the price that I paid.

12 oz can, dated 1/4/18. Pours hazy dark yellow with a small fizzy white head that goes to a thin film and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is subdued - sweet straw malt and some fruit.

The flavor is sweet soapy straw malt with a little fruit and resiny floral hops. The mouthfeel is thin and pretty watery.

Overall, just OK.

Golden hued with a quarter inch of eggshell on top. Moderate lacing. The aroma is of citrus with a hint of pine and light crackery malt. I'm tasting citrus fruit, a touch of piney hops, and light malt. Lots of flavor for a session IPA. The mouth is lightly resinous and sticky.

12 oz can served in a Tervis at the 2017 Fall ASMF.
Lively carbonation leads to a large foamy head.
Moderately biter but strong flavor for a session IPA.
Fruity and faintly floral with a hint of pine.

DATE: August 4, 2017... OCCASION: a day and night with the Morgans, complete with fireworks to come--a perfect opportunity to test out a new(er) session IPA offering.... GLASSWARE: Abita pint... pours a vivacious, bubble-fueled body that is murky enough to blur one's hand behind it... thick, soapy white head leaves a pocked circle of lacing that banks at the corners... grapefruit, lemon, a dank basement of resin and hops--suggests a profile worthy of an IPA... some spiciness, like curacao... harsh cracker crispness too... medium-bodied, lightly hopped and pleasant in the mouth with little to awaken the teeth... the finish is surprisingly heft, with lemon acidity and malt.... rather balanced for an IPA from the West Coast... somewhat dry at its finish, with a flash of flourish early.... the grapefruit takes precedent, leaving lemon zest, passion fruit, curacao, and cracker to fight for the leftover profile... refreshing, light, and again, still a struggle to buy a "session IPA" as much more than than a cash-in on the IPA craze... but speaking of value, 15 cans for $18.99 sounds just right for an August that should be warm and thirsty...
