Point the Way IPA is our ode to the hop-crazed residents of LA. Its light malt body is the perfect canvas for the pine, grapefruit, and tropical fruit notes from our generous dry hopping. At 5.9%, this balanced West-Coast IPA is classically SoCal.

16oz can poured into tulip - thanks to gcphilli

Pours a golden yellow with orange hues. Thick white head fades out quickly, leaving a collar of film and light, dotted lacing on the glass.

Slightly sweet, juicy hop bitterness in the nose with orange and grapefruit. Hints of tangerine and bready tones. Soft malts with barely any alcohol.

Dry, bitter hops up front with some citrus peel. Touches of tangerine and grapefruit with a hint of sweeter pineapple. Lighter breaded malt backbone with a touch of biscuit and grain. Finishes dry and bitter.

Lighter medium body, decent carbonation, sticky and dry on the tongue. This is a pretty tasty beer, especially since it's more on the "sessionable" side of IPAs. If it was available, I'd have it again.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color - too hazy to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that quickly settled down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of tropical fruits and grapefruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has dank flavors of tropical fruits and grapefruit with a light amount of bitterness. There are hints of pine in the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. Only a light amount of crispness is present.
O: This beer is a lot lighter in body compared to what I would have expected from all of the hop flavors in the taste. As such, it is rather sessionable.

12 oz. can - Best enjoyed by 10/26/2019 stamped on bottom. (Had it it just in time!)

Pours slight hazed golden yellow with a foamy head that becomes a bubbly island with some bubbles of lacing.

The smell is of citrus (grapefruit) and pine. Classic traditional American IPA aroma. (Just about hits a 4 in my opinion.)

The taste is of citrus and pine with slightly caramelized bread/grain backing. It has a slightly spicy/leafy finish. Some bitterness lingers. Some alcohol shows throughout.

It hits medium-bodied in a slightly watery way. Slightly/sharp astringent. The body holds together well enough. Some bitterness stays on the palate.

I wouldn't put it in a West Coast hop bomb category, but hop-forward enough to fit a more "old school" interpretation of the style. Not particularly unique, robust or complex, but nice enough to work well.

On draft at the brewery in Glendale. Nice well balanced with just a little funk to it that could have upped this to a 4 rating. Piney, citrusy and bone dry.

A: moderately hazy; deep gold in color; 1+ finger ivory head that receded to a splotchy cap; very little lacing;

S: pine and citrus;

T: a hodgepodge of flavors that don't come through as anything coherent; pronounced bitterness toward the end - a little harsh;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; dry finish;

O: the flavor was not all that pleasant;
