Pours a bright effervescent gold with 3 fingers of whippy ivory colored head. Very good lacing & head retention

S: Bready, grassy

T: Breadyness, pears, green melon & dryness up front. Grassy & soapy with a little honey crisp apple & dryness as this warms, a little orange & lemon as well. Finishes dry with a little lime, some pear & pomelo & more grassyness

MF: Light/medium body, crisp carbonation, good balance

Easy to drink, clean tasting & flavorful at the same time

16oz can stamped BEST BY 11/10/19 poured into a becher glass at fridge temp 5.4% ABV 35 IBU 3.5 SRM. The beer pours barely hazy orange amber in color with off white head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is Citra forward with tangerine, orange and a hint of pine. The taste is mildly to moderately bitter and hop forward with orange rind and grapefruit jumping out before easing away to reveal a pleasant pils body underneath. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, adequately carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. No off flavors or flaws. There is a bit of stickiness from the hops, but it all comes together nicely. Overall, very good. If you're traveling through central Indiana and find this one fresh & cold, pick it up.

BBD: 11/10/19

Bright gold with visible carb trails, thin layer of foam and broken skim.
Aroma is fruity with tropical hints, Citra comes through.
Fruity with a bit of apple and mango, mild bitterness that lingers.
Not much of a malt presence as the hops dominate somewhat.
Light bodied and drinkable, unobtrusive carbonation.
Overall this was pretty good, thanks to Chris for this one!

I enjoy this, it's light and moderately crisp, but be aware that it doesn't really conform to style guidelines. The can description as an American Pale Lager suggests they fiddled with an APA recipe and threw lager yeast at it. The result is brighter up front, with "aggressively hopped" Citra flavors and only a modest suggestion of lager character arising on the midpalate. Not as highly carbonated or effervescent as expected from a traditional lager, either.

Thought I was buying an IPA, surprise was on me. Not a bad beer despite not being an ipa. Really clear golden color. Lots of carbonation. Head quickly dissipated.
Good to above average beer.

Fine amber color; aggressive rise of carbonation; relatively thin yet fluffy and sticky white head. A fine powdery, floral hop aroma. Mildly juicy flavor; intense hop bitterness riding over a light malt base. Medium-heavy body; crisp and sharp on the pallet; mostly dry finish.

The taste makes this pale lager -- deceptively light and pleasingly satisfying with a mild malt base initially providing the entryway and then the hop bitterness smacks you between the eyes. The mouthfeel is glassy smooth and gently shifts to a mild dryness. Very good overall...

Had poured from pint can, no date, into nonic pint.

Natural Liberty compares well to the best-known and best-regarded hoppy lagers. Clean, citrusy pilsner with a nicely bitter hop finish.

This is an easy drinking beer with a very nice Citra hop finish. Very refreshing on a hot day. Nothing fancy. Nothing over done. This is the kind of beer I want more than one of while sitting around the pool. It doesn't do anything groundbreaking but it does what it does very well.

Appearance: Arrives at the bar golden colored and hazy, capped modestly with a strand or two left behind

Smell: Citrus and pineapple, mango and passion fruit

Taste: Bright flavors forward, with grapefruit, pineapple, mango and passion fruit; sweet, cookie dough malt flavors underpin; crisp, dry finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate to high carbonation

Overall: A nice, bright lager, which would compare favorably with the leaders in the category

Love this beer. I don't tend to normally drink lagers but the citra hops really make this my go to summer beer. Black Acre is Indiana's up and coming brewery. They need to lower their prices though.

Smell: mandarin oranges tangerine peach pineapple sweet fruit some floral notes
Taste: upfront bitter grapefruit that lingers throughout middle of the mouth fresh cut grass orange peel peach dry crackery malt finishes with a floral hop perfume a slight spice and a piney bitterness.
Feel: extremely dry in finish light bodied the flavor is almost instantly gone all that lingers is the biterness on the side
of the tongue.
Overall: great drink ability not very sweet but a good amount of bitterness. If your looking for a session beer with a good hop kick this is your beer.

I do not usually review beers, but I am blown away by this one. It looks like a cloudy NE style IPA. Great aroma on it. Nice almost fluffy citrus taste with slight bitterness on the end. Really very unique, and unlike any lager I have had!

Pours a murky golden color. The aroma is absolutely mouth watering. Pineapple, mango. What a beautiful hop aroma. Taste, this is a very clean tasting beer. The hop quality is very much toned down in the taste. The crisp layering takes over. There is a bit of a corn, bit of grass, even a saltiness to it. Then at the back end there is some of those same pineappley hops. No bitterness on this. Not as sweet as the aroma indicates. There is a smooth as butter mouthfeel to this. Overall, this is really really good.

Murky, cloudy golden peach color. Turbid.

Aroma is citrus dominant, with grapefruit, tangerine, and orange contrasting earthy, resiny, spicy notes reminiscent of rye.

Flavor is more earthy, lager yeasty, and resiny throughout, with biscuit malt dominating the finish and lingering into the spicy, lightly bitter finish. Citrus pith adds complexity. Not sure of age on this one. It's a well balanced brew, but would've liked more citrus, less earth.

First had this about a year ago and have come back to it regularly since then. Black Acre is local for me and I stop by to fill growlers regularly. Most of the time, I leave with Natural Liberty.

It pours a hazy golden yellow. The nose is packed with juicy citrus and tropics fruits (e.g. pineapple, lemon, mango, orange, passion fruit). The flavor mirrors the nose with the dominant characteristics being bright citrusy, tropical hops.

At this ABV I can have a few pretty guilt free.

All in all, this is a great beer that I think can stand toe-to-toe with any AIPA or APA out there.

Got in a trade. Poured from a 16oz tall boy into a pint glass. Color is copper-y and golden; very nice. Smell is somewhat off putting but not terrible. Taste is outstanding. It's much better than I anticipated. Haven't had too many APLs but this would rank at the top of my list I think. Would love to get a few more of these in my distro. Overall I really enjoyed this and would make this a regular purchase if I could get it.

A - Hazy gold-yellow body, a short white head that fades very slowly, and some definite lacing.

S - This is pretty sharp, with citrus and pith, with a harsh note of dankness coming off the citra that is particularly prominent when cold, but fades as the beer warms.

T - An explosion of pith and grapefruit pulp, a cracker malt underneath, and a very mild bitterness in the close, which is really special given the huge open.

M - Very smooth, but with a slight resin aspect that does linger, but not unpleasantly so.

O - I'd heard good things, and this beer definitely delivers. Make sure not to drink too cold, because this one really blossoms with fruit and pith when it is closer to room temperature. Delicious.

L - Transparent glowing orange with two fingers of white head

S - Lager yeast and dry malt. A faint bit of orange pulp almost like an artificially-flavored juice box

T - Taste is similar to the nose with subtle citrus and zest followed by dry pilsner malt. It's a litte more juicy than dry which makes it pretty refreshing.

F - Standard for the style, but a little dryer thanks to the malts used.

O - While it lacks a distinct, genuine hop flavor, this does contain a good kick of citrus to make it a highly drinkable experience without drying out your mouth.

Poured from an undated can into a snifter. Pours a pale golden color with a slight haze. Can smell the citra when the can opened. Light and very enjoyable. Good crisp hoppy taste. Will have this again!
