Didn't care for this one. Heavy on malt. Hop flavors were subtle and not very interesting. Freshness was not an issue, bottle was 2 months old.

Served in a 12 oz pint glass:

The beer was served a nice clear, amber color with a white head that was not retained. The beer has a nice lacing though.

Light hop aroma, citrus perhaps with maybe a hint of sweetness from the malted barley.

Taste is good, pretty well piney hops. I really did not get a whole lot more out of it, but it was solid.

The body had a lighter medium feel to it with good carbonation, it was smooth and pretty easy to drink with a slightly better than average dry bitter aftertaste. Overall, it was a nice IPA, but I found it rather simple and I have had much better IPA's.

I had this one on tap the other night at the brewery. Poured from the tap a dark yellow/amber color with a light beige head. Aromas of floral/piney hops and caramel malt. On the palate, this one was medium bodied, with good hoppy flavors and a malty backbone.

Deep clear blood red in color with small(er) white head slightly tinted with yellows. Lacing is mild.

Tons of crystal malt and light pine hops. Very mild aroma and moderate hops.

Very light, next to zero dry bitterness. Most of the bitterness is wet and relaxed. Funky aftertaste, kinda reminds me of dry earthy rubber... Missing a bit of crispness. Carbonation is dead on target.

A different take on an IPA (yes, I realize it's an English Style). Recommended at the price ($5/16oz). On tap, it's a bit more crisp and bitter than bottled, but still nice and smooth; an easy drinker for a warm summer day. Keep em' coming B&B!!!

It arrives darkish amber with a plentify head a small carbonation. The aroma is balanced between the hops and malt. Nicely balanced, sweet with hints of lemon. While the hops are there in the middle and finish, it doesn't drink like an AIPA, closer to and English IPA or American Amber. The better of the two IPAs here.

Pours a bit like seltzer, noisy and crackling. THe equally lively foam head makes a nice soapy, stringy looking lack head. The color is a brilliantly clear but muted dark-orangish ruby color. Clarity is bonkers, like polished glass. Looks, especially the head, are to a 'T' English IPA. Smell features noticeably buttery cracker malts and a faint hint of dark candied fruits. Smell hints at the overall balance of the beer. Taste is smooth sipping. Like the nose said, this is a balanced beer. Toasty malts on one side, mildly bittered/spicy hops on the other. Faint butteryness Hops are a little underwhelming, frankly. Not enough for an IPA, but I feel like I'm drinking a hoppy amber ale. Nothing really pops for me in this brew. Nothing bad about it, just feels like a well-worn idea. Feel is a little slick, but not nearly as lively as the first pour suggested.

First off, I don't like the name. I feel like I'm browsing reddit reading "MAN BEER". I'm just thankful they didn't bother with adding bacon and bits of beard hair. Change the dumb name. Secondly, I prefer my IPAs American to English, frankly. I think more flavorful aspects of the hops are present over what is usually done in English-style IPAs. So maybe it's just the style, but this beer didn't wow me. In fact, it kind of bored me.

Tasted On: 07-11-2012
Freshness: Unknown
Packaging: Draft
Glassware: Shaker pint
Purchased: On tap at the Bull & Bush

Copper colored, clear beer with good retention and lace. Aromas are of both caramel malt and earthy English hops, plus some citrus notes.

Taste is similar to the nose - this is a well-balanced IPA in the English tradition. Hoppy but not too intense; the hops are kept in check by the malt backbone. Finishes with a bit of citrus hop bite.

Very pleasant example of the style and recommended.
