VIsited this brewery on a recent tour of York breweries with @fish113d.
Parking right across the street and the brewery is adjacent to the baseball stadium.
Walking in the drinking area is very small with a short bar of about 7 or 8 stools. There are also some table chair setups in the room, but not many.
About 16 drafts are available and a cooler of cans is next to the door. Feels like a local watering hole vibe more than a brewery. Brewing equipment is visible through a window on the back wall.
Drafts are pretty diverse with a pilsner, imperial stout, a marzen, some IPAs, but not all are hazy. Beertender is a friendly guy and talks beers with us. Also talks a little about the building being haunted with frequent footsteps and doors opening with no one around.
Not really any food options that I see but there could be food trucks on site.
I had the pilsner and marzen on site and both were good, but the pilsner really stood out with some clean malt profile and herbal hop bite with a very dry finish. Brought home a bottle of bourbon maple barrel aged imperial stout and will review later.
A nice stop but could see it being very crowded at times due to small size and currently avoiding crowds. Worth a stop when visiting York.

I stopped here after a long bike ride (or what passes for a long bike ride for me now, in my older and more corpulent state). I don't know if it was because it was getting dark out or because I was tired or because everyone around me had gotten drunker as the day progressed, but there was a sense of menace in the air. As I chained up my bike, I could hear some of the obese motorcycle people smoking on the porch mumbling something about me being a gay. Truly, America has made great once again.
Liquid Hero is dark and tiny. The building looks and feels like it used to be a roundhouse, but it's inexplicably small. The bar seats 6 or 7, there's a few high tops, and then another, comically shallow metal bar faces the wall, for those of us who enjoy our beers while staring at a fixed point a foot in front of our faces.
The beer, however, was good. Very contemporary and all well-done. The IPA's are thick and fruity but they taste like beer. The menu was *very* IPA heavy. Like, I don't recall there being a non-IPA on offer.
Anyhow, I had a couple, made some smalltalk with the dude next to me, and then I left.

Great micro brewery with a hometown vibe. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They offer 12 better on tap with a great variety of styles and ABVs. Best beer is the Irregardless IPA but I live truing their scratch series "Hop Hero" and "Manifestation".
Small food options but had multiple places that will deliver.
A must go!

Small reclaimed warehouse across the street from a minor league ball park had the feel of a place you could get rowdy in. Small bar area in front of the brew house, seats 6, with 8-12 tables spread about a 30 x 30 area. Nine beers on tap, the 2 (IPA & 2xIPA) that I had were solid. Server was friendly and one of the brewers was also behind the bar. They sell cans to go... wish more breweries did this. Had a great time there.

This Brewery is a gem for those looking for a smaller very personal atmosphere that is filled with hop lovers. The building is brimming with history where very few architectural upgrades have been made to maintain its rustic and historical appeal. One of the few areas where you more often than not will be served by the owner who's love of the craft shows admiringly.
Upstart size capacity with limited rotating selection that I have found to be brewed exceptionally well. They have an all star IPA line up. The Extended Stay Session IPA has the flavor you wouldn't expect from something so easy to drink, the Irregardless IPA is the best I have had on the East Coast and the What the Floc 2x IPA is dangerously tasty and drinkable. If you are an IPA lover that seeks out enticing aromatic beer that delivers balance and piney citrus notes from the front to back end of each sip then this lineup is worth trying.
There are several good breweries located within 5-15 miles from me and I still will drive the 30 minutes during a week day just to frequent Liquid Hero. I am excited to see them grow and continue to be slightly daring in their brewing methods.

Originally from York. Wife and I stopped in during a family visit. Like the other reviews, it's a small old warehouse, with maybe a dozen tables. It was slow when we were there so space wasn't an issue. Ordered a flight, got 9 beers. All but two (Irregardless IPA and Heroweizen) were terrible, and those two that didn't suck were mediocre, standard to the style. Everything had a slight hint of metal. Both she and I were thoroughly disappointed, to the point of where we didn't finish our beer, and let's be honest, who wants to waste beer. I give them credit for starting up the beer movement in York, but their stuff is garbage. Clearly an issue of quantity over quality. Rather than make 3-4 good beers, they make a bunch of mediocre-bad ones.

I can honestly say this is one of the coolest places I've drank beer in the area. The environment is lax and welcoming with beer enthusiasts being the crowd. Won't find any snobby folk here. The owners are great guys, whom I have met and talked with several times. They even gave my brother and I a short tour of the brewing facilities in the back of the pub. It's a must-stop if you're in York. If you live in York and drink beer and haven't been here, you are failing at life. Joking.
Beers are pretty good with a few hit or misses depending on your tastes. I fell in love with the imperial stout on nitro and consumed several in one sitting. The American Hero is a steadfast part of the brewpub and a must-try if you're there. Plus it's right next to a ballpark!! Beer and baseball... York doesn't seem too shabby when you're sitting on a stool at Liquid Hero.

A couple of things right off the bat - the parking lot is insanely cramped, and it can be a pain to get a spot on a weekend, which is prime time for Liquid Hero. The building is also a bit narrow on the side facing the street, and you can easily pass it by without even realizing it. Now, the good part - this place is great. I believe there were nine brews on tap when I went with my girlfriend, and a flight of all nine (in generous 5oz snifters) was something like $20. I wasn't expecting much, but the beers were all solid to above average, with their Freight House Porter standing at the top of the pack along with some other darker beers. Staff was very friendly, and I liked the vibe of the place despite it being a smaller venue. I think these guys can really start to make an impact in the future, but they're a little limited at the moment.

Wandered in after dinner at Maewyn;s York-while public space was small, atmosphere was spot on with high ceilings, exposed brick, plenty of free space-food is limited or catered in, (like many small brew pubs), but service was eager and willing, with brewer/owners on site Saturday night. Restroom (unisex) is a hoot. Will be going back.

I have been to Liquid hero a handful of times, it is probably the 2nd best place in York to have a pint. I have been in after a game across the street at Brooks Robinson Stadium and other times when it was not as busy. One particular occasion an owner shared some cyser with me that was not on the menu that was very strong. The place is pretty cool inside with an old time warehouse feel. The beer is fresh and the prices are reasonable. I think the service is very friendly and attentive so if you get a chance check Liquid Hero out as they usually have a unique beer to try on tap.

My recent trip to Liquid Hero was purely by chance. My wife and I, and a few friends, were out for a drink. We all happened to order a brew by Liquid Hero at the local bar (White Rose). We loved it so much we decided to walk two blocks down to the brewery itself.
It's small, and quaint, but Liquid Hero has a great selection and a fantastic atmosphere! The service was decent, brews were cold and very fresh (as should be!).
All of their brews are offered in varying sizes, including a decent price on 6 ounce samples.
One thing to note - This is a brewery, not a brewpub. Don't come here hungry, the food selection is mediocre. Great snack food to go with your drink, but not ideal for dinner.
As for parking, I'm not sure if there was parking at the brewery itself. The city of York has ample parking locations within a block of the brewery (just don't come on first Friday and expect to find parking nearby!).
We will be going back, and often!

I've only been to York once, and I can say I'm not a huge fan, but this little beer oasis made venturing into the city totally worth it. It's located right across the street from a sports venue and a train station, if that means anything to anyone. The hours are a bit scant/sporadic right now, but hopefully they are able to expand in the future, as it seems like they do a fair amount of business.
From the outside, it doesn't look like much, a plain brick building with a small parking lot and a little sign. Inside it's pretty quaint and intimate, with sort of an old Americana / speakeasy feel to it, general breweriana on the walls. There's a small bar that seats maybe 7 or 8, and a few tables. Surprisingly good beer selection for such a small place, with the chalkboard displaying at least ten brews, of varying styles, and all averaging out to be pretty solid. I think they sell bottles? But regardless, growler fills are available, and at the bar you can get pints and/or generous sampler flights.
The service was fine. The bartender knew her stuff, and was knowledgeable about the brewery's wares. I'm pretty sure they don't have food available, but I didn't really notice. Prices were about normal for what you got.
Yeah, it's a nice place and worth visiting. I'm rarely out in the area, but it's not too far out of the way from my usual Central PA jaunts, so I'd like to go back again.
