Pours a golden amber color with a small dense white head that settles into a light cap with some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is a bit vegetal from the pumpkin and has a some buttery crust notes. It is also giving off a mineral scent. An overall perfumey sweetness. Really not much in the way of spice.

Actual pumpkin flavor in the taste. It is sweet and vegetal. I don't pick up any of the pumpkin pie spices at all. It is amazing how much you can taste the actual pumpkin without the spice getting in the way. Its earthy. The malt is light, doesn't get in the way much. It gives off a light buttery taste which works with the pumpkin. In the end, perhaps as it warmed, I do pick up some nutmeg and cinnamon but it is very very light compared to others in the style.

Moderate feel with soft to tingly carbonation. Sweet on the palate but does have some earthy bitterness.

A different sort of pumpkin ale. Seems to focus almost solely on the pumpkin with barely any spice. I prefer the spice in pumpkin ales but I appreciate being able to actually taste the pumpkin. The vegetal taste does wear on you a bit by the end. It needs the spice.

I'm local, waiting for PJ brewery to open with much anticipation. I filled a growler of Boo Brew up at Stony Brook beverage. It poured a light orange/amber, had some lacing present, thin head. It definitely had the scent of Autumn, pumpkins and some spice, not overbearing. Taste was a bit lacking in punch, whereas I expected a pumpkin powerhouse, I received a beer that needs some more of what is already there. This is a solid beer, my only real drawback is that the mouthfeel was a bit thin, watery even. Overall, a solid first go. I am looking forward to trying their other offerings.
