500mL bottle.

Lightly hazy and attractive gold with a modest head. Nice bits of lacing on the way down. Looks like a Pils!

Aroma has a subtle Noble hop presence and a touch of lemon along with biscuity malts. There's a hint of diacetyl though, which is not acceptable for the style.

Flavor is balanced, perhaps leaning a bit towards the malt. Grainy but pretty clean. Could use a few more IBUs. Biscuity malts, lightly grassy hops and... wait... Diacetyl? There's definitely a buttery flavor going on here-- not a good thing for a continental pilsner. Finish is clean, mouthfeel is a bit under-carbonated, but smooth.

So I guess Bull Jagger is trying to emulate Shipyard with the utter disregard for the diacetyl rest? Aside from this flaw, it still needs more hop bitterness and hop flavor to be a true Pilsner. The funny thing is that Big Claw is a better Helles than Portland Lager. I'm still hoping that Bull Jagger figures things out soon.

Prost?

In a pilsner glass this beer was gold in color with a small white head. No lace to speak of.

Grassy, floral aroma. Some sweet malt. A hint of honey.

I thought there was a fairly good grassy hops presence in the taste. Sweet bread also.

This was a crisp, refreshing beer. Light to medium bodied.

Good job, Bull Jagger.

Pours a three finger white head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Hazy, pale amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Hay nose, sweet hay and bread flavor. Similar to their Portland Lager. Pricey at $6.50 for a 500ml bottle from Tully's Beer & Wine Wells, Me.

From the bomber into a new acquired pilsener:

A: hazy yellow body that left a soft white foamy one finger head, slowly rising bubbles, some spotty lacing was left here and there.

S: some malts with some spice here and there. Barely any hops were noticed in the smell.

T: balanced between the spice and the malts. The hops only came out once the beer warmed.

M: medium, carbonation is felt on the tongue and mouth

O: not a bad beer, but I think I would only seek it out on tap if I had it again

Purchased a bomber on a recent trip to Maine - my first experience with a Bull Jagger product. Relatively weak floral aroma -golden pour with decent lasting head. Crisp mouthfeel with a taste which seemed to be a combination of sweetness and hops. Dry and refereshing finish. Overall, an enjoyable 22 ounces and i'll purchase this product again on my next Maine visit.
