Hits the style very nicely. Citrus aroma and flavor with a slightly bitter finish. Gifted from my brother after a recent visit to the area. Poured into glass from a 16 oz can.

Pours an ever so slightly hazy golden copper color with a dense white head that provides maximum lacing. An absolutely gorgeous WCIPA.

The nose features resiny pine, ripe orange, and a biscuity malt note that literally has me salivating. The pine is very bitter, but complemented perfectly by the orange flavor and the biscuity malt. The mouthfeel is medium and drying, on point for the style.

I sought this for quite a while, glad I finally got to try it. It is more than worthy of all the beer nerd love it receives. Exceptionally well done.

Pours a clear medium golden straw color, huge foamy white head that lasts a long time. Aroma is citrusy with a little bitter pine. Flavor: definitely a west coast ipa. Citrusy hops give way to waves of bitterness. Lots of bitterness. Semi sweet, malt allows the hops so shine. Fairly oily and slick, good carbonation. Overall, I rent to gravitate to hazy, east coast IPA’s, but this is a good one.

On tap in a tulip glass.

See through copper color with a nitro-like foamy cap, about 1f. Double wide fat rings of lacing.

Malty, slightly dank and piney, citrus, and fruity gum.

Blast of grapefruit. Solid caramel malt underneath. Pine and lemon.

Strong medium body. Lots of hop bitterness. Dry biscuit malt present in the finish among the hop bitterness. Fresh as can be.

Quite bitter for a west coast IPA, and that’s alright with me. Good drinking brew.

Lightly hazed copper with two fingers of creamy-looking, antique-white head. Good retention and thick, webbed lacing.

Peppery pine, gym socks, some earthy dankness and a hint of orange sweetness in the nose.

Great balance with bracing bitterness, pepperiness and a solid malt backbone. Very bitter finish, just like the good ole days.

Medium bodied with a nice burst of carbonation.

Two months past the canning date and this is still excellent. Definitely a bitter bomb.

Drinking this from a 16 ounce can poured into a pint glass.
Appears slightly hazy orange with a very nice foamy head that lasted with no real lacing
Smells citrusy lemony, orange, sweet, bready.
Taste follows the nose, the 7.2 ABV is well hidden and definitely hop forward with a nice but slight malt backbone.
Mouth feel is medium for the style with good carbonation.
Overall a very nice IPA that I would definitely drink again.

Pours a yellow with medium carbonation. Aroma is fruity/citrusy, taste is much the same with just enough malt to keep things balanced. Very enjoyable IPA to sip through, good amount of hop flavor with fruit and citrus backed up by a little pine.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a golden yellow color and a mostly clear consistency. There was a 3/4", foamy, long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.

S: A decent, but not spectacular aroma of hops, citrus fruit, malt, tropical fruit, and pine.

T: Tasted of a decent bit of citrus fruit (lemon, orange), a hint of pine, a bit of malt (mostly in the finish), a good shot of hops (the main ingredient), and light tropical fruit (mango, in particular). Kind of a throwback flavor in many ways, focusing more on the hops than anything else. That being said, it could've used more fruit. Still, not bad.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a dry finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A good, if somewhat uneven beer. Worth a look.

Pours a mostly clear golden color with a nice white head , smell is pine hop and citrus some bready malts. Taste very pine forward and crisp with grapefruit, oranges, mango and lemon herb. Mouth feel is full of hop pleasure the way an IPA should be, very floral and citrus with a bitter pine finish offset with sweet caramel. This is a well made W/C IPA,delicious.

Canned On: 11/06/18
BATCH: #445

Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice hazy yellow/orangy color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango), piney. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango), nice little pineyness. Medium body, ABV is hidden pretty nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. Thanks Russ!

MF: Medium body. Fairly firm carbonation, great balance

From a can poured in a tulip glass. Friend brought back from NC. This is a really well made, traditional American IPA. Pour is a beautiful copper gold color. Small head with lacing that lingers. Smell is nice, intense resiny peach and slight piney grass, with a hint of bready malt scent in the backend. Taste is well balanced bitter and malt. I taste the tangerine, pine, grass, light caramel, lemon zest and sweet malt flavors. Maybe a touch of biscuit. Definitely not a session IPA; substantial body and thickness to the beer. Body is well-balanced. This isn’t as juicy and tropical as more recent IPAs, definitely reminding me of really good IPAs from ~5 years ago. This isn’t my favorite hop combination, but it is purposeful and just so well-executed that I had to rate it highly.

Very good. Had pint can at airport bar in Charlotte. Opened with blast of juicy fruit and finished a little heavier on the pine. Smooth decent body for a can suggests good malt backbone. So does rich bready taste that fills out /helps but stays in background to hop attack.
All in all a very nice IPA that I’d love to try on tap

Plastic glass at CLE airport. Wanted an iPA so not sure what I was getting. Nice surprise. Nice color no real head (bartender was careful not to have one). But nice lacing in the glass. Nice citrus hop aroma which matches the taste. The citrus does not overpower the nice malts which leaves to nice overall flavor. Was surprised with the apv, tastes like a good summer drinking beer but a bit high for a hot afternoon. No faults. If you like a citrus ipa you will like it!

This is a great IPA. Pours a very slightly hazy light copper color from a 16 oz can into a pint glass. Big foamy, bubbly head with excellent retention and thick foamy bands of lacing on the glass. A good looking brew!!! Aromatic and slightly citrusy aroma, overall very pleasant. Tastes very good. Nice and bitter but with a smoothness that comes from a good malt/hops balance. Aromatic and mild citrus hops are featured here. Mouthfeel is the best part. Even though it is bitter, there is a pillowy softness about the beer that reminds me of Blind Pig. It goes down real easy and would be an ideal session beer if not for the high octane. Alcohol is not noticeable at all here. Surprised and impressed, I could drink this stuff all day.

WOW! If the alcohol content wasn’t so high it would be a terrific session beer. Perhaps it is just the results of a nearly empty stomach at CLT airport. Recommended by Jeff Northrup this beer stands up to the hype. Super clear with a oatmeal head that laces nicely down the glass. Slight fruit, balanced acidity and bitterness along with lower carbonation make this truly a winner. Top 5. Thanks Jeff.

12/28/17...on tap in downtown Charlotte. Light bronze, heavy foam, active bubbles. Resin oils and pine nose. Hearty bitter open, and quite juicy. Firm and pronounced flavors. Rolls through and the bitter lingers. Real tasty.

Canned 8-21-17
16oz can to Spiegelau IPA glass. Pour is lightly hazed, Golden in color, with medium lacing, firm white head.
Smells mostly of citrus, but there is a nice blend of hops/malts that come through. Each drink is a slap in the face of hop goodness. MF is of medium-high carbonation and bitterness.

With everything going on in this beer, it's quite refreshing. The blend of hops in each drink are all over the place, which keeps it interesting. I bought these on a trip to NC in September, and found this hiding in the back of the refrigerator. Kudo's to NoDa for the process, as I didn't notice any degradation in flavors over 5 months.

For me, this is the IPA all others are measured against and the one that opened my eyes to the style.

It is smooth, floral, citrusy, and the right amount of bitterness. It goes with about anything and any occasion, and it always a crowd pleaser when it goes to a party. Highly recommend, but get Hoppy Holliday’s when it is available.

Look - opaque golden orange with a three-finger off-white head that has good retention and a ton of lacing.
Smell - grapefruit, orange, and pine resin dominate, but there are notes of caramel and dense bread lingering in the background.
Taste - similar to the nose with a superb blend of the hop and malt notes mentioned above. The bitterness is pretty high, but isn’t over the top since it adds to the overall flavor profile instead of taking the spotlight.
Feel - high carbonation, dense body for the style, and incredibly smooth.

Tall can of Noda Hop Drop 'n Roll, about 55 F, poured into a glass in September, 2017. The temperature of the beer was perfect for the hoppy character. Beery aroma and a nice head, leaving lacing on the glass as the beer was drunk.

This might be just another modern american IPA from the can description. This brew is better than the run of the mill IPA. The assertive bitterness from the hops has a depth of character most do not. The brewery promises fruity and citrus, but those elements are, to my taste, in the background. There is a malt body that is just enough to balance the hops.
