Had on tap at the brewery shortly after the release. Poured a light, bright orange with a solid amount of puffy white foam. Nose was great - lots of citrus and a more subtle pine smell. Taste was more of the same, with citrus leading the way and then a more muted and floral taste smoothing things out a bit. Medium to light mouth feel and carbonation, right where I expected it to be. Overall a very solid and easy drinking beer. Tons of flavor and character for a 5.1% beer, or really for any beer. Great addition to the NoDa lineup.

Poured into a Dogfish Spiegelau glass. Bottom of can says 09/08/2014.

A- Pours a dark amber color with a 1/2 inch light tan head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a thick solid ring behind.

S- Sweet, bready malt aroma with a subtle hop fume.

T- Lightly toasty malt comes together with some balancing hop bitterness to make a very drinkable pale. Slightly sweet.

M- Crisp with a faint hop bite. Medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the lighter side.

O- Living up to the name, this is quite the sessionable pale ale while also having some nice flavors.

Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Firestone restaurant pint glass
From: Total Wine & More in Ballantyne (Charlotte), N.C.
Price: $2.49
Purchased: Sept. 9, 2014
Consumed: Sept. 14, 2014
Misc.: Born on Sept. 2, 2014

Poured a honey, golden, straw hazy color with two fingers of khaki-white frothy head. Uneven, layered spots of average-to-above average foamy lacing. Above average retention on the top all the way down. (Sight - 3.75)

Smelled spicy Simcoe hops, grapefruit, Citra hops, floral hops, Centennial hops, orange rind, caramel, buttery grass and light butterscotch. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted a bit toned down than the nose, but still very good. First thing I noticed was Citra hops and floral hops with a long, bitter finish on the tongue. Also got spicy Simcoe, light grapefruit, orange rind, grassy hops, honey wheat, buttery caramel malts, a bit boozier than the 5.10% ABV, onions, vegetables and tangerine juice. (Taste - 3.75)

Light body. Oily-to-thin texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 3.25)

This beer had its moments, but it was a bit unbalanced overall in my opinion. The lingering bitter vegetable aftertaste was just too much. (Overall - 3.75)
