Flagraiser IPA is a big, hoppy tribute to the unfurling of the Grand Union flag atop Prospect Hill in Somerville, MA on January 1, 1776. This ale celebrates our passion for hop aroma and flavor balanced with just the right amount of malt.
Huge aroma and resin-y flavors from the elusive Galaxy hops are the signature of this beer. Built on a solid base of pale malts, this double IPA makes generous use of hops from Columbus, Crystal and Galaxy with the Galaxy hops taking the lead during ten days of aggressive dry-hopping.

I have a few reviews out there
This one stumps me...
The aroma was/is of more malt than hops but it's there
If there were an existent barley IPA this may be it.
I'm no professional. It's like a slummin' Summerville IPA
If ya local, ya might try this one..

If you are looking for a New England IPA - cloudy and juicy - this might be a bit disappointing. It's not to say its a bad beer but it is quite bittering, a bit boozy, medium bodied. It does lack some character though. I was hoping for citrus hop burst and it isn't present in the nose nor anywhere else. The nose is a bit bready with maybe some piney notes. I'm not getting the citrus or orange or floral hop I was hoping for. The hop is hard to pin down. It is quite harsh on the back end. It may be a bit old school DIPA, not bad, not great either.

A little let down. For a Double, it lacked character.

It poured a hazy orange and yielded the same color body. With a small, lumpy and foamy white head, there wasn’t much carbonation rising or much lacing. The smell was centered around piney hops with a slight toasted breadiness and some peppery tones coming out. The taste was a combination of the piney hops and citrus. Malts were there, but take a back seat. The palate was about a medium leaving a dry and bitter feel in my mouth. Overall, this was a very good IPA and fits the style very well. The ABV was hidden very well. I would definitely have this again.

I recognize that this is a good beer, but it's not for me. Not realizing that it's classified as a double IPA, I found it to be a bit heavy with too much toasted malts. The hops got lost in the background. That said, the high abv was not noticeable.

Dry hopped with healthy amount of malt, contributing to a darker brown color. The malt does make this beer slightly heavier than a typical IPA. Solid offering from Slumbrew.
