An autumn brown ale with distinctive toasty flavors from an assortment of roasted malts and grains. As a seasonal, limited release beer, its nutty characteristics offer a great companion to colder climate cuisine. A bright hop finish from Cascade and Fuggles balance the toasted grain notes to create a new expression of autumn brown ales.
Brewed with Toasted Buckwheat, Maris Otter, Victory, Brown and Chocolate malts. Balanced with a bright hop finish from Fuggles and Cascade.

Poured into a large snifter glass. The beer pours clear dark brown, but turns opaque as it collects in the glass. There's a thick, creamy tan head and visible tiny bubbles rising along the side of the glass. The beer smells like a typical brown ale with dark roasted malt, nuts, chocolate, and some woodiness from the hops. I don't get any alcohol in the scent. The flavor up front is nice and roasty with chocolate and nuts. Then the bitterness lingers in the back end of the mouth. There's some nice woodiness or perhaps pecan shell sort of flavor. The mild malty sweetness is well balanced by the back end hop bitterness. The body is medium to full with moderate carbonation. The beer is slick and the alcohol provides a nice warming effect even though it is only mildly detectable in the flavor. This beer drinks pretty well for a 7.5% ABV beer. This is an excellent beer.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a deep brown color with a finger’s worth of light off white foamy head that fell off at a good pace. Mild stringy lace. The aroma had some roasted nuts, light toast, cocoa powder, light earthiness. Some grassy hops. The flavor blended the sweet to the roast and followed into the aftertaste pretty nice. Quick malty and roasty finish. The feel was centered around a medium body with a fine sessionability about it. Gets somewhat creamy along my tongue. ABV might have been a bit high for the style but still gets it done just right - good job to the brewers. Overall, pretty well done brown ale worthy of having again.

A- Dark brown pour from a tall can to a snifter. The head is a deep nutty tan and it forms with a thick creamy consistency rising to about a cm high. Fairly good head retention and plentiful lacing in the form of spots and small sheets.
S- Toasted, browned grains make up most of the aromatics with some influence from the yeast and hardly anything from the hops. Reminds me a bit of an of an oatmeal raisin cookie with toasty nutty, slight cocoa and caramel from the grains and some dark spiced fruit from the yeast. Fresh yeast bread pokes through in the backdrop.
T- Comes off as darker and toastier here with an obvious cocoa and coffee contingent moving towards the foreground. Distinctly nutty malts, like walnuts, toast, caramel, light sweetness, cereal grains balances with spiced dried dark fruits, yeast bread and a hint of earthy hops.
MF- Rich consistency to the body that has a medium overall thickness. Silky and very smooth with a moderately low carbonation.
A very solid brown ale that is carried by the malts pretty much all the way. Rich malts bring the full spectrum from cereal to toasted nuts to cocoa.

A: crystal clear; borwn with red accents clearly visible; with a relatively conservative pour, a 4 finger dark tan head that receded slowly to a thick cap; very nice lacing;
S: roasted grain; bittersweet chocolate; coffee;
T: bittersweet chocolate up front; roasted grains get added before mid-palate; finish is like mildly bitter coffee;
M: medium bodied; completely over carbonated; dry finish; hides the ABV well;
O: each of the 4 pours required to empty the bomber into a pint glass brought a new massive head - very over carbonated;
