A 500ml bottle with a BB of July 2014, so it's a bit out of date. Hopefully still in good condition. Acquired a while back from Trembling Madness in York. This is Arbor's Freestyle Fridays #43 - a sort of APA/saison hybrid with a ton of clementine zest added for good measure.

A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. Bottle conditioned and very lively. A deep, hazy coppery-marmalade hue with plentiful floating sediment and intense carbonation. Produces a vast head of frothy white foam after much steady pouring; this slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of perfumed clementine zest and fruity hop notes with hints of citrus, mild white grape, faint grass/hay, earthy yeast and vague caramel malt. Fruity!

T: Tastes of clementines, fruity aromatic hops and saison yeast with a lingering bitter finish. Notes of clementine/tangerine, orange peel, citrus, mild white grape, grass/hay, fruity yeast esters, earthiness, delicate spice, subtle caramel malt, faint grain, stewed hops and a touch of harsh cardboard in the background. Well-attenuated, followed by a prolongued leafy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with prickly carbonation and decent body. Mild hop oil action on the palate. Pretty astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter stewed leaves/cardboard, yeast esters and vague fruitiness.

O: A decent effort marred by subtle off-notes. Looks alright, despite the insane carbonation. The aroma and flavour are a well-judged mix of citrus, aromatic hops and fruity yeast, though troubled by a harsh finish. So-so body; a shade too thin and fizzy. Goes down alright, but would probably have been better fresh. Serves me right for forgetting it in a cupboard. Worth sampling if you chance across it.
