A one-pint bottle with a BB of May 2015. Acquired a little while back from Trafalgar Wines in Brighton. Described as a pale ale hopped exclusively with Ella.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A hazy golden-amber hue with plentiful fine sediment and good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a while before reducing to a thick surface layer. Nice lacing.
S: Aroma of fruity hops with hints of white grape, citrus, mild melon, subtle tropical fruit, grass/hay, grainy malt, earthy yeast and faint stewed hops. Tasty stuff.
T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with a dry, bitter finish. Notes of white grape, peel, citrus, mild melon, hints of tropical fruit, grass/hay, earthy yeast, grainy malt and faint stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a crisp, hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and good body. Hop oils tantalise the tastebuds. Quite astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, white fruits, earthy yeast and faint malt.
O: A lovely little pale ale with lots of fruitiness. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed with light, fruity hop notes and earthy yeast. The malt is subtle but provides a decent backbone. Good body. Goes down a treat - I don't think I've ever had a bad single-hop brew from Arbor. Well worth sampling if you should chance across it.
