12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass

A. It pours a nice amber color with two fingers of off white head.
S. It is a pine forest in a glass with very little else coming through.
T It tastes like it smells with a strong hop bitterness to start followed by some more hop bitterness and finishing with some hop bitterness, yep its a really hoppy beer and reminds me of some unbalanced west coast IPA's.
M. It has a medium body.

O. This is an interesting beer I had never heard of when I picked it up. The label references some citrus and a strong malt back bone and I'm missing that in the bottle I have so I wonder if its old bottle. I would try it again.

12 oz. bottle poured into a NB snifter.

A - Pours a muted golden copper-brown into the glass. A dense, very tight two-finger head of egg-cream white slowly collapses, leaving a dense, thick ring of foamy lace around the glass. After a good 10 minutes, there's a nice blanket of very fine bubbles left across the surface that refuses to fade. Held to a full-spectrum light, the beer is a muted apricot orange-red and rather cloudy, with lots of bubbles rising up through the glass feeding the surface.

S - A bit muted, but decently complex mix of grapefruit, pine, and herbal hops sit on moderately toasted malts. A little biscuit in the background. Spending some time with it brings out some tropical notes, but the resin pretty easily overrides them. At the very end of a very slow tasting, the underlying malts made an appearance offering some light caramel.

T - Bitter citrus rind and dry, crushed floral hops dominate the taste profile. A hint of dry toasted bread cowers in the background. Notes of soft bitter orange fade in at the finish. When it really warms up, there's a tad more malt, but not much.

M - Foamy. Plenty of carbonation. Body is rather thin and pretty much disappears into the finish. Structure is loose, with components milling around each other. Bitterness washes over the tongue. Finish is dry and lingers across the palate from the hops.

O - It's all about the hops - their pronounced bitterness and punch right at the beginning of the quaff makes discerning nuances difficult. This one's for hop heads who don't want malts and sugars cluttering up the taste profile and want a lasting bitter finish to coat their tongues. I'd prefer more balance.
