A: single finger head with nice lace. Dark with red hues and some light getting through.

S: roasty aroma, more so than most porters.

T: lots of chocolate with caramel notes. Roast notes.

M: very smooth. Medium body for a porter. Semi dry finish.

Overall: a very good beer but not really a good porter. I will be getting this again but its not a real player in its genre.

A - Pours with a clear, dark brown body, and a small off white head that leaves little lace.

S - Smoky with some caramel and a hint of nutty chocolate.

T - Nutty malt with some dark bread character and a bit of molasses in the finish along with a bit of herbal hop character.

M - Medium body, moderately low carbonation, and a dry finish.

D - Not really dark enough to be a called a porter, but it is still a pretty decent beer. The malt character is nicely done and there is a bit of hop flavor in the finish that helps to balance things out. Not bad, but like most of the beers that I've had at BJs, I wouldn't go out of my way to drink it again.

On tap at the Gainesville BJ's location near the mall. Pours dark brown with red hues in the light. Small cream colored head. A bit light colored for the style. Smell is surprisingly good. Heavy roasted coffee notes and some chocolate. Taste is hidden behind lots of water. Good ess this is watered down. Slight nutty coffee here, but mostly water. Finishes plenty clean just no flavor. Very silky smooth mouthfeel though...probably because there is zero carbonation. Not something to have again, but not anything I'll spit out either. Underwhelming.

Had this at the Allen Texas brewpub. Served in a taster glass.

Dark mahogany body and a tan head

Sweet and nutty smell

Somewhat boozy front. Some fruit marmalade flavor there too.

Nitro makes it light on the tongue

Okay. Nothing complex. Very run of the mill. Little that tells me porter or American
