On tap at the brewpub. According to the brewer, this is not the base beer for the oak-aged porter which I also reviewed.

The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is full of roasted malt and chocolate. Fairly straightforward, but also very enjoyable. It gives you what you want in a porter.

The flavor is similar. There is a lot of roasted malt and chocolate cocoa in the flavor. There is also a little bit of dark fruit, mainly cherries and plums. However, the fruit takes a back seat to the big, roasted chocolate notes.

Medium, creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
