It came out motor oil black with zero head but a nice film I am guessing because the glass was completely full like overflowing ....
The smell was of a very rich vanilla and had some mild roasted malt that gives it the depth that a Porter should....
taste wise it is sweet smooth vanilla rich goodness that just fills your mouth with such a delightful creamyness that you just want to treat it like a good box of chocolates but beyond the vanilla it has a really earthy roasted malt that gives it a fair amour of presence...
The feel is creamy and seriously like root beer haha....
drinkability is max because its so God dam smooth and delicious one of my favorite Porters I've had.

One of the better vanilla beers I've had and I recommend it, if you like vanilla. It was a very smooth beer, seems like oats are used. Big vanilla flavors with a bit of chocolate and coffee. Not terribly complex, but easy drinking and tasty. Order a pint for dessert.

Was looking forward to trying this, had this before I moved to NC. Poured a nice dark brown, cream head. There may have been some other flavors in there, but you wouldn't remember any of them once the vanilla kicks in. It's pretty much all you taste. People should stop trying to get vanilla into beer, have had several other vanilla porters since, Breckenridge vanilla porter and some brewery in Chicago, all did not work. Several better brews at OP.

Pint Glass at Olde Peninsula

Pours strait black with a nice tan head that leaves little lacing.

Aromas are earthy of vanilla, dark chocolate and a little mocha. The vanilla dominates the nose.

The vanilla is present but not overpowering. Mocha and roasted bean are also present.

Creamy, medium body with low carbonation. Very smooth.

Quite enjoyable and worth having more than one
