Parking is near by, tall ceilings, old time feel which is nice. Beers were good, meant to pair with food. I liked the burgers we had. Staff very young on our side of the restaurant but friendly. Stouts variations very plentiful.

Good selection of beer which seems to be average or slightly above for the area (which ain't bad because this is definitely beer country). Meals here have been good and the service was attentive without hovering. Nice place to go in downtown K-zoo.

This place was a favorite during my college years. My family still enjoys a stop here when we find ourselves in K-zoo.
Located in a fun part of town, even more vibrant than 15-20 years ago when I was first introduced. There's a good mix of college kids and recent grads to go with families and those of older generations. Decor is warm and inviting, very pub like. Maybe a little loud with chatter. TVs are set nicely for sports, but don't detract from the overall feel. Dart board area is a nice touch.
Beers are well made, and so cheap! $4.25 pints for the regular and seasonal offerings. On our most recent visit, my wife and ate for under $30 before tip.
This place is always just at the cusp of capacity, usually a 10-20 minute wait. Last time the greeters seemed a little overwhelmed. With a lot of open tables, our wait felt 5-10 minutes long. That said, it's a very minor inconvenience in the grand scheme. The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and checked in at good intervals.
Around 5 regulars on tap. Another half dozen seasonal or special releases, and a number of blends. Also a few guest taps and bottled production beers, wine, and a full bar. As brewpubs go, pretty solid.
The food was quite good. A pretty big menu of classic comfort and pub grub. A number of soups, salads, appetizers, and desserts as well. Seemed like quality ingredients, well prepared, and pretty inexpensive.
Definitely a place we'll continue to visit.

The vibe is a little curious....its on the corner near downtown K-zoo....the building seems newer but the décor inside was a bit older/rustic. The quality of the food and beer were ok. The service was excellent. The server enjoyed discussing with me the beers and food selections. There is plenty of different beers and food to select from.....no reason to be unhappy. I originally order the perch and chips....yuk! Please soak the perch fillets in milk or at least serve with a side of lemon to get ride of the fishy taste....had to return it. Swapped it with a burger.....MUCH BETTER.

V- Wood/tile floors, nice wood bar, good amount of seating. The place could use a bit of a remodel though. I've been coming here since they opened in 1996 and I don't think they've ever repainted the walls or steam cleaned the tiles and it's results in a bit of a musty smell, especially in the entry area.
Q- Could use a cleaning and repaint.
S- Depends on server but generally good in my experience.
S- Good selection of both food and beer. Usually some one and done beers on tap but their mainstays aren't the best. All the experimental IPAs I've had here have been very good.
F- Varies in quality. I usually get a burger and it usually comes out the way I order it. Their sandwiches are also good and all under $10. Pub dip is good too. But I've had some entrees that weren't that good and a bit over priced.

My Wife and I stopped in here after visiting Bell's this afternoon. We weren't expecting it to be so busy, but we had no problem finding a seat at the bar. We were greeted rather promptly by a bartender, who explained their offerings. I tried their Pancakes n Hot Pants (Habanero, maple, walnut, vanilla, coffee, porter garnished with bacon), and my Wife tried their Gingerbread Porter. The Pancakes n Hot Pants was incredible, and the Gingerbread Porter was a good beer as well.
We'll be sure to come back to sample the interesting creations that Brewer Dan seems to come up with.
