A bright copper tinted amber column supports a 2" snow white rocky foam cap slowly releasing citrusy, resiny, herbal hop aromas with hints of malt in the background.
The flavor is like a malt sweetened hop tea with citrus leading to a citrus rind bitter finish.
Crisp, easy to drink, medium body and carbonation.

Poured from a 16 oz. can into a Surly tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a fairly hazy unfiltered copper golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Big three finger white head with decent retention. Leaves a lot of soapy lacing around the glass.

Smell: A bright and crisp aroma of earthy and citrus hops with biscuity malt. Earthy hops upfront with hints of pine spice, grass, and citrus orange, pineapple, and lemon. Fairly floral with herbal hints. Pale malts with hints of biscuit, grains, yeast, cracker, and slight caramel. Nicely balanced and crisp. A pretty solid pale ale aroma.

Taste: Follows up the nose with a nice crisp and refreshing taste of hops and bready malt. Earthy hops with notes of spicy pine resin and grass. Floral and herbal hop notes. Citrus hop esters with notes of orange, lemon zest, pineapple, and a little grapefruit. Bready pale malt balance with notes of biscuit, grains, yeast, toast, cracker, and a little caramel. A very well balanced taste. Solid.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp and very smooth. Finishes somewhat dry.

Overall: A pretty solid take on the American Pale Ale style. Good balance of hops and malt as you expect.

Clear, dark golden color with two fingers of head that settles to a thick cap. Moderate amount of lacing is left down the glass. The aroma is a little timid but there is a lot of caramel malt with dank, citrus hops. Well balanced flavor. Plenty of malt sweetness and flavor to carry the hop flavor and bitterness. Nice caramel and toasted malt with dank citrus flavor. Outstanding body. Very gently carbonated really gives this beer a full and rich mouthfeel. Pleasantly surprised by this beer as I was hesitant to buy another Big Wood beer after the very lackluster Morning Wood. Glad I was talked into it.
